Two threads here, same subject, same front page. And, probably a half-dozen in the past on the same subject. And not in the sub-forum on the subject.

Use the search function set to 'date', not 'relevance'. Otherwise it may, or may not, suck. Personally, I blame user sloth for jib-jabs.

I think that's the missing key that throws people off. I think I figured it out the first times I went searching for a particular post that I know was made.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

There is a perfectly good search function, it's just not the built-in one...Google.

And here's how - preface your Google search with instructions telling them to limit the search to a particular site, in this case, SIGforum.

To have Google search SIGforum for 'whatever' you'd enter this in Google:
quote:
site:sigforum.com whatever

The first rule of the search function is that you don't talk about the search function.

This. Search function is less than optimal, giving me blank results pages more often than actual results and usually 50 or more pages of results.

So, why don't we just link the above in place of the search function?
