Who approves these stupid commercials as air- worthy?
You're here talking about it, that's why they make them.
Ummmm...no...
They make them so people buy their product.
Does it look to you like anyone here is going to run off and buy their product?

TGC140You only pay for what you need. Until you have a claim.
Then you find out; "you didn't pay for that."

texassierraI can't stand any of the Liberty Mutual commercials. The only commercials I pay attention to and I might even say enjoy involve dogs. A couple of favorites are the Subaru Golden Retrievers and the little girl in the hospital visited by the therapy dog.

lastmanstandingSometimes it's not entirely the commercial content but just the sheer number of repetitions in a matter of a hour even. In our area it's the one where they have a large x ray screen on a stage. Two skeletal people can seen kissing each other behind the screen. Then they step out from behind the screen and it's two young girls who had been locking lips.
The crowd watching acts all surprised and starts clapping and cheering. My wife has a friend who is lesbian. She told her I wish they would take that damn commercial off the air and just leave us the hell alone!. She gets it. She knows they will never be treated like normal people until they are left alone like everyone else wants to be. They don't want to be noted and clapped and cheered at like some circus act.

sns3guppyThe commercial does what it intends; this discussion is proof. You remembered it.
I can't get it out of my head. Wet teddy bears. I can't remember who or what it's for, just the stupid wet teddy bears.
In that regard, it fails. The advertising is all about publicity; whether the name is lauded or held in derision, if people remember the name, it's gone somewhere: often said, "there's no such thing as bad publicity." Trump relied on it (publicity good or bad), and he was right. It's about remembering the brand and keeping it out there.
The problem is when people remember the event, but not the name. I remember the teddy bear, but not the company behind the commercial. Just the guy shouting, "get your wet teddy bears." Stirring the pot works if people remember who stirred it. I don't.

That's another thing. I've been buying car insurance since I was 16 and I've never paid for more than I needed. You'd have to be an idiot to do that.

selogicJust because you " remember a commercial " does not make it effective . When I get so annoyed that I mute the TV , they have failed . And I mute nearly all of them .

Hah! I thought about producing an XXX-Rated coffee commercial starring Mrs. Olsen, Juan Valdez, and the burro.

casI thought their ad campaigns couldn't get any dumber, then that one started.
I was shopping for insurance for a new ride several months ago. They were the only company I intentionally didn't get a quote from.

NK402Liberty Mutual used to be a good insurance then something happened. I had them for sixty consecutive years as well as having a home policy. About 2-3 years ago, they raised my premium about 50% despite a clean driving record and no claims. The agent I had for years had retired and was replaced by some guy named Muhammed.
When I called, I got the "well, lets look at your policy and see if we can save you money" speech. I said you could have done that before you sent the bill. I applied to USAA , which saved me $900 but the best was yet to come. About 6-8 months later, I got a letter from Liberty Mutual, thanking me for making an application but that unfortunately, I didn't meet their criteria for coverage.

Yeah, and if I carve my name into the hood of your car with a screwdriver, you'll remember me as well, that doesn't mean we'll be friends.
