I'll take a SWAG and say this bolt is probably low torque and is not going to fasten critical items like brakes, suspension or engine parts. It would be put somewhere conspicuous as a kind of advertising. A plastic engine "beauty" cover/insulator comes to mind. It would be immediately obvious when opening the hood. "Look, BMW logo bolts!"
