All of a sudden. Where did they get my email address and phone number?

Did someone else sign me up? Was it from another organization? I’m pretty stingy with my email other than purchases from vendors, and especially my phone number. If they are looking for support, spamming is not the way to go about it.

I've had a few texts, they got flagged as spam automatically.
Not sure how/where they'd get my number.

Are you sure it's actually Turning Point texting you and not some scammer masquerading as Turning Point?

Real or fake TPUSA doesn’t matter. In this day and age, it’s unrealistic to expect your email address to be in an impregnable vault.

I suppose it was just a coincidence that I went from receiving maybe four or five spam emails a week, and mostly from companies that I had previously given my email address to getting that many at one time, and all having to do with Turning Point—an organization I’ve had no previous interactions with. I’m sure they just pulled it out of the air and knew to target someone with somewhat conservative views.

Sure. Roll Eyes

I'm getting them, too, suspect they got my e-mail from the RNC or WinRed.

That would explain mine now that you mention it.

Could be a false flag kind of thing . Spam a bunch of people and change their attitudes about Turning Point. Just a thought .

The question about some sort of spoofing operation is where did they get my name, phone number, and email address, and know to believe that I was probably a supporter of Mr. Kirk’s philosophies?* All that is of course available out in cyber land, but all together?

* I actually knew nothing about him until this horrific event. I had seen the “prove me wrong” videos on YouTube, but never watched any and didn’t associate his name with them. I watch very few political discussions because either they repel me with their toxicity, ignorance, and stupidity, or if they’re about things I already know and understand, I don’t need further confirmation of those beliefs. Plus I already have enough to be discouraged about without seeking more.

That of course is an admission that I’m in the crowd that is frequently criticized for not being open-minded, but one can get to the point that he’s heard all the arguments, given them the thought and analysis they deserve, and be confident beyond a reasonable doubt that he’s not going to discover a gold nugget buried in the mountainous dung heap. As the skeptics like to say about other issues, we should be open minded, but not to the extent that our brains fall out.

I get email from Turning Point as I've been working the last several months to encourage local high school students to start chapters.

I get anywhere from 2 per day to 1 every other day.
