It just started today and I’ve already grown tired of hearing about it. I have dear friends that love the game and have even played the game at a high level but I just cannot get into the game. I don’t watch much of any sports nowadays but I find soccer particularly dis interesting.

Sports were meant to be fun. Nowadays the salaries, hype, expense, and celebrity opinions have ruined much of it. This certainly includes soccer.

Savor the limelight

I watched a little, maybe 5 minutes, ping pong on TV a few days ago. I won’t be devoting that much time to the World Cup. In fact, this post is all the attention I’ll have devoted to it.

Two days ago while driving through Atlanta, GA, my son and I saw a sign over the roadway that said something about expecting additional traffic for a week or so due to a sporting event and I wondered out loud what sporting event could screw up traffic in Atlanta? Fortunately, yesterday’s drive through the Elk Capital of Michigan, Atlanta, was completely uneventful except for the two cars when I arrived at the four-way stop that were trying to figure out who goes first. The locals call it Spaghetti Junction.

Friend is going to Toronto, cheapest tickets he could get were $1000. Said they were face value 600 ea. and taxes fees etc.

Don’t know how “3rd world sports” can demand such insane prices.
