Now that's a recipe for relationship success right there, lol. I would be so much more inclined to watch chick flicks with my wife if they all included details like this Big Grin!

So went out for dinner and dancing at Koot’s afterwards (Koot’s is an Alaskan institution, if you know, you know). Feeling pretty good about myself, had a 28 year old try and hit on my date.

I have been married 45 yrs yesterday . If I were to find myself a single man for whatever reason , I'm done . Remarried ? Oh hell no . Actual dating ? Nope . A decent place to live , a pickup truck and a good Dog , and I'm set.

The last 2 lines of the revised OP gave me a laugh. Best of luck

Well that was fun while it lasted. Was supposed to go out again on Saturday. Texted her on Wednesday with a couple of ideas for what we could do. Got a response of, “I’m really busy with work right now, I’ll text you later and let you know.”

Don’t hear anything back. Get a phone call Saturday night asking where I’m at. Told her I didn’t hear back and was doing my own thing. Absolutely crazy response of I’m supposed to be the strong man to unlock her femininity and how I need to lead the romance. No thanks I already have a doormat at the front door, don’t need another one.

Note to self, new red flag, never been married, probably a reason why…

Sorry man, that's a bummer. Sounds like you dodged a bullet, though. At least the crazy came out early enough for you to see it and get away.

That’s too bad, but as much as it sucks, think of how worse it would have sucked if you hadn’t been smart enough to recognize that you needed to end it sooner than later.
I’m constantly amazed by some of the relationship stories I learn about: “You really thought that she/he was going to change?”

No, more like a 5.7; kind of sexy and full of intrigue, but ultimately very expensive and not something I want to take home.

That was a test to see if she was in control of the "relationship."

According to her criteria, you failed.

According to the rest of us here, you passed.

Well done.
