Keurig Smart brewer, purchased on April 21, died this morning at the ripe old age of ONE MONTH 8 DAYS. This morning it failed to power on. Keurig customer service was helpful and seemed to be US based. Fortunately I saved my receipt. Photos of serial number and receipt attached to their email....new one will be shipped. But...wait, it's Thursday, I won't see it until next week. $=%&# &<%$#

I got a MixPresso single serve coffee maker several years ago. It takes K-cup and single basket add your own coffee grounds. I paid $42 on Ebay.

I have my aunts Krupp w/stainless carafe; she gave it to us when she got a Keurig back around 2004. Have used nearly every day since. I know she had it at least 5 years. I dread shopping for a new one.

I use a Keurig or Breville in the morning. We also have a 12 cup maker in the cabinet for when my folks visit, big coffee drinkers

But wait, there's more. I got an email response after I submitted pictures as requested. Here is the basic text:

We have received your photos for your proof of purchase. Upon review, we regret that we are unable to accept your photo(s) as they do not meet our requirements per our warranty policy. We could not process your request due to one the following reasons:

Serial number is not valid.
Proof of purchase provided is not valid.
Proof of purchase shows a purchase date outside of our 1-year warranty.
Proof of purchase states brewer was purchased “Used.”
Proof of purchase provided is not from an authorized retailer.

WHAT? Time for another phone call (I now stand corrected..call center not in USA) Issue apparently lies with a computer scanner that "reads" pictures and failed completely on my email. Anyways, I have warranty and shipping emails. I was really pissed when I initiated the call, but approached my issue with calmness with a hint of a threat of mayhem Smile

I do have my old Mister Coffee stored in the attic...I will survive . Wife and dog are safe.

That is the reason I finally got a Moccamaster. I had a Keurig for about a year or so, 1-2 cups a day. It died, so I bought another one. It lasted or a month or two, then it died. Our regular coffee makers would typically last 1.5 - 2 years.

It was a hard pill to swallow @ $313, but it's still going strong after 2+ years. I got the 60 oz, Grand Moccamaster.

I hope you're kidding!

Percolators brew what are considered by many to be the worst cup of coffee. Eek

I have a Ratio 8 because I had a temporary houseguest willing to buy it for the pour-over experience while crashing at my place. I’m not a huge coffee fan, but I drank navy coffee for over 20 years and the cheap stuff brewed in an Amazon basics maker for 10 after that. They said no to my Amazon basics coffee maker and black rifle coffee I got for Christmas. So I expected it to make a huge difference. I found that I must not have the palate to appreciate the nicer things. Smells good like most coffee does, but still taste like burnt bean water and works for caffeine delivery. Even with their fancy fresh ground coffee from Guatemala or Venezuela or wherever.

My great English boss, many years ago, gave it to me with an additional adjective.
As I type this, I’m hearing it in is voice and accent: “Propahhh priahhh plaahhning, prevents piss-poooah p’fooohmance!” Big Grin

- - - - -

And it’s a good thing that Coletti percolator is already sold out in its bright red configuration. Otherwise, I’d be about $40 poorer now. Big Grin

God bless America.
