to guarantee that person who was going to "stop by sometime today" will show up: 1. Sit down to lunch. 2. Lay down for a nap. Fixed a chainsaw for the neighbor, dropped it off by his garage and left him a note to "stop by if he wanted to know what I did". Texted me and said he was interested and "would be over." That was at 8:30. Fixing a sammich for lunch at 11:30 and the doorbell rang. ![]() Issue was threefold: Plug was absolutely SLIMY with oil, indicating a far too rich gas mix. Dumped the gas, put in fresh gas mixed at 50:1 with synthetic 2-smoke oil and a fresh plug and it started but ran like crap. He mentioned that he'd replaced the carb in an attempt to get it running (also admitted he'd never looked at the plug...) and per usual Nanny State EPA Policy, it was set WAY too lean. Turned the mixture screw out a full turn and it cleaned right up. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent. | ||
