"Apopka Pizza," located in the Three Odd Guys Brewery in Greater Metropolitan Downtown Apopka, has some of the best pizza that I have had. Fresh ingredients, pizza is made to order while you wait. My wife and I really like the pizza! I was working in the area today, and thought that I would pick up one of their delicious pizzas to take home, but I was giving somebody a ride and did not want to go in, place the order, and wait for fifteen minutes or more, so I did the logical thing: I called to place an order for a pizza to be ready when I got there. They REFUSED to accept the order. Why? "We do not take pick-up orders because Uber-Eats delivers for us." WTF? You don't want my money? OK, I'll play your silly game; I'll go to an establishment that wants my business. What a stupid policy, turning business away. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

If they deliver only, then they should make it clear somewhere on their business, website,... Q

It's not delivery only; I'll clarify. There's a micro-brewery, featuring eight or ten types of beer and ale. You can sit and sip at the bar, at one of a dozen or more table-tops, or sit at a lounge type sofa and drink. At the back of the store, sort of an extension to the bar, is the pizzeria. You can order a pizza and sit at any of the brewery seats -- bar, table-top, sofa, etc., and enjoy the pizza. OR, you can order the pizza to go, and wait while they bake it for you and box it up. It seems that the one thing that you can not do, is order a "to go" pizza by telephone and pick it up. And no, there is no mention of this imbecilic policy on their website. In fact. the website shows a page to order online, for pickup! I can not find ANY mention of delivery, nor Uber-Eats, on the website. None. At. All. If it's there, it's well hidden, or maybe it's right up front and I'm really losing it (although I've been told that I can't be losing it, because I never had it in the first place). https://orders.cake.net/11378962 In spite of this, the attempt to place an order for pickup via telephone was refused, because "Uber-Eats delivers for us." הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

So I get this straight, you can order a take-out if you are there, but not via phone? Makes no darn sense. The only thing I can think of is if you are there and waiting, you'll probably have a beer, If you order by phone you'll be in and out with no possible additional in store purchases? Pretty poor business model if so, and like you said, I'd probably quit going altogether. As an aside, a couple of restaurants we used to frequent (several times a month) only do take out now. We haven't been back to either since they started that. Tony

Exactly. Might not be the very dumbest thing that I have ever heard of, but it's definitely in the top three, and in the running for first place. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Those delivery services are straight up robbery. Fuck that.

Not only that, but since the pizza place was on my route, I would have had it home faster, fresher, and hotter, than an Uber driver would have gotten it to me. Bonus points: We live in a gated community. Because I am hearing impaired, I chose not to be on the telephone access system that lets residents open the gate remotely, via telephone. There is an un-gated "vendor entrance" but most delivery drivers ignore the clearly posted instructions to use the vendor entrance, probably because most GPS routing goes to the residents' gate. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Maybe lack of sales of other products while you wait for your order that you placed in person.. Or possibly involved in some type of over priceing and kickback sceme with the delivery service ???.................... drill sgt.

Or, the order takers boy/girl friend is on duty as an Uber Driver and was steering business their way. Regardless, a very stupid policy. Appropriate time for " I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER". If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

I have only been in there a few times, but each time I was there, the entire crew consisted of two twenty-something females who took turns tending the bar and disappearing on break, and one young guy running the pizza area. I never saw anybody who looked like a manager, nor who was experienced enough to make a logical decision. Just a skeleton crew to sell beer* and follow their formula to make really good pizza. *First time there, I ordered a glass of their lager to sip while waiting for the pizza. Something about the flavor was "off" and half way through the glass I identified it as sort of lemon-citrus, which is not present in a traditional lager like, for instance, Yuengling. Next time I went in to order a pizza, I mentioned this to the girl at the bar. She told me that the "lager" was trying to emulate the Corona-with-lime taste, and said that their "American Red Ale" brew was what I was looking for. She was correct. So now I know, if I want a Yuengling-like lager, I need to order a red ale. Who knew? הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I was going to say "Leave a Yelp review" but saw that you left one already when I checked to see if they were on Yelp. It also looks like they don't respond to Yelp reviews.

I'm either getting older and grouchy or the cost of things has me drawing a line in the sand with stupidity and/or shit service. Coincidentally, one of the places I crossed off my list as a "never again" was a pizza place near my house. Similar bullshit from them with delivery/pick up and an attitude of superiority during dine in, so i'm done. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

Why would they care if you picked it up instead of having it delivered? It seems like it would would be easier for them. Unless they get a kickback from Uber. ****************************************************************************** Never shoot a large caliber man with a small caliber bullet . . .

Huh, we got ticked off ourselves yesterday. Great pizza place, but nearly an hour from home. Website said open at noon. They don’t always answer their phone right away, as they’re usually swamped, so didn’t worry about that too much. Decided to go that route and they were closed. No mention of hours when calling, the hours on the door did not show correct hours for sat. I finally called them after being home for the night, and asked what are their hours for sat. Turned out 4 pm start. I kindly informed her, she needs to get her boss to update the website, correct the hours on the door, and say the hours off a phone message. I know she prob didn’t care, but I told her we went by the website info, so it was a waste of an hour one way trip for us to find out they weren’t open. The worst part is they have the best pizza in our opinion, but I hate driving there unless I’m already in the area, or out and about so it’s not as far. Wish they’d open up another place closer to us.

Nope. People choose to use these services ALOT. However I am not one of them. Never used them and never will. Not robbery at all complete choice. A couple years back the local Five Guys added Uber Eats as an option. I asked the manager how that was going. He said great it increased their profit be $10K a week per location! I eat breakfast at Chic Fila once a week. Between Uner Eats and Door Dash there are at least 20 pick ups in my 15-20 minutes there. It’s WILD! ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!
