However, the best all around Chili is Trader Joes brand 'Organic vegetarian chili.' <<snip>>
I have never been to Trader Joe's, even though a new one opened near me a year or two ago. Might have to give them a visit if their chili is really that good.
Do they have a non-vegetarian version?
They have 'Cowboy beans' which are really good but cant recall an all meat chili

irreverentI also love Wendy’s chili there is a knock off online that you can make from scratch …it’s pretty good.
But I understand if you don’t have the time I don’t know that I would do a canned chili I would probably just do some sort of soup like tomato or chicken noodle..

OKCGeneY'all are making me hungry.
I have some chili in the freezer I made earlier this summer.
Homemade chili with a small bag of Fritos mixed in is a staple from my youth.
Frito Chili Pie. Try it.

Sounds good. I’ll try it. Cheez-Its are good in chili too.

smschulzMade me make some Texas Red a couple days ago.
Based on Meat Church Recipe:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePlqYj7e46A&t=892sExcept I used Brisket and Ground Beef, also tweaked a bit with some tomatoes and some onions.
No BEANS, no chili powder, no jalapeno's.
The heat was as in the recipe with using reconstituted dried chili's.
It was a great heat like I have never had before, a haunting heat that was fantastic.
Sorry no pics.

reflex/deflex 64Canned chili is my fallback when there is nothing to throw in the lunchbox. Pull top cans were the clincher. I can’t ever remember heating a can up, took a couple to get used to that.
Put me in the Stagg camp, beans or not, whatever.

BRLI was in the grocery store a couple of weeks ago. They had the Wendy’s Chili stacked up at the checkout. The kid working the register says “we’re having a contest to see who can sell the most Wendy’s Chili. Would you like to buy a can?”
I like Wendy’s Chili but when I saw it was $5 a can I politely declined.
Got out to my car and realized I forgot to buy what I went in there for so I’m checking out again, same kid asks me again. I notice he’s the only clerk asking so I said sure, I’ll buy a can, you’re working hard for it and you’re here doing your job.
Same thing, needed a quick meal so I heated that up. I liked it. If it was $2:50 a can I’d buy more of it but not at $5. Good thread though, I’ll look for the Marie Calendar’s at Costco.

coloradohunter44I stopped in at a nearby Wendy's for some chili the other day. I was really disappointed. It was mostly beans and very little meat. Nothing at all like it used to be. Such a shame. It used to be good.
