This thread, https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...0601935/m/4940080464 inspired me to look at the Olight website.

They have a nice little keychain light for just under fifteen bucks. It is rechargeable via a USB micro port.

I thought that the little light might make some nice stocking-stuffers, so I put a few in my cart.

Then I noticed that OLight is "enviornmentally responsible" and therefore does not include a USB charging cable with the light, by default. You can request that they include one, at no additional cost, so I chose that option.

Problem: I have several of the lights in my cart, but they will only provide one charging cable per person.

I fired off an email to Olight; they suggested that the one cable could be shared.

I explained that the lights were gifts, going to different people in different locations, hundreds of miles apart, so any environmental advantage gained by not supplying a cable with each light would be more than offset by the fossil fuels burned, driving back and forth to share the cable.

The environmentally responsible folks at OLight have chosen not to respond.

I guess I'll be ordering a different brand.

WTF do USB cables have to do with being "environmentally responsible"?

Cheap assholes, yes. Responsible not so much.

Yeah, exactly what I thought. I should have provided a link, so here it is. Notice that you can request a charging cable, but they will only provide one, no matter how many lights you order.

"environmentally responsible"
Just an excuse to short change their customer. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Bummer! Guess i wont be getting a USB chargeable keychain flashlight for Christmas. Big Grin

I don't blame you V for passing on this purchase. Its a bunch of bs for them to not recognize and correct the issue to send multiple cables to make the sale and have a happy customer.

Actually, the emails from the customer no-service rep were kind of funny. She was quoting the company BS line, while all the time she had to be recognizing the idiocy.

I got one of the key chain USB lights last year.
I don't recall if it came with the USB cord or not.
Either way, I have several spare cords on hand.

The light stopped working after a couple of days.
It wasn't worth the effort to get another under warranty.
It is still dangling from my key chain.

Put on light in cart, add cable, checkout. Repeat as many times as necessary.

I just bought one for my wife. It’s under the tree for now. I doubt she can make it 10 more days.

That right there is enough for me to buy elsewhere.

They're Christmas gifts for God's sake. They are apparently dumb enough to let the opportunity go by to have multiple people get introduced to their products via the magic of Christmas. It's possible that some of these gift recipients could actually like the product and buy more. THINK!!! Another customer (or customers) for life --- but no, they are too dumb.

I tried to buy one of their lights, but it got lost so I got a refund. I feel I'm not missing out on anything.

That’s crazy. I’ve never heard that from them. They mailed me one as a gift and it came with a cable and all their magnetic charging lights come with cables.

As much as I like their lights, that’d be a big skip on my part too.
