I missed the days when they made cars with manual hood rod.
I miss the days when you could open the hood and SEE the engine, and the air cleaner, and there were only 2 wires coming off the battery.

If you're goin' through hell, keep on going.
Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

Johnny, those cars had the 9 pound springs with 21 pounds of hinge to hold the 80 pound hood up.
Ahh, the good ole days.

I like(d) Jeep Wrangler hoods for simply folding them back against the roof. I put padding between them so as not to mar the paint. (Not my paint to mar.) This doesn't work when they mount Hi-Lift jacks to the hood.

I spent $350 to replace mine this May.I remember when they just had springs. If the catch fails, you end up with the hood blocking your windshield but....

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
