Like a party in your pants |
The day will come when you will understand what your parents are going through now, you will be living with the same problems they are dealing with now, and in the future. Getting old is NOT for sissy's! Give them a break.

My grandparents barely spoke English and my grandmother never learned to drive. My grandfather barely spoke and rode the L downtown to his job as a tailor. They were different but I do not recall ever making fun of them or their habits. I understood that various handicaps came with age.

That made me LOL. As anohter poster said, the OP is going to get old too someday. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
