Hebrew National's are made about 20 miles from me.

I prefer Koegel's natural casing Viennas. They have a nice snap when you bite into one.

Man, you gotta have that snap when you bite. Anything else is like mushy mystery meat.

Grew up in WNY. My dad worked for a number of the local meat companies for many years, sadly all now out of business. Sahlens is my go to, stocked in Fry’s here in Az.
The old world, independent sausage makers were and still are the best.

Most food originating in the NYC region is very suspect of being marginal to inedible !

Yes!! And this is why I like Polish. So many brats these days do not have that snap.

I make, and obviously cook, both. What I do, particularly with brats, is boil them in beer or water, and then toss them on a hot grill (or under the broiler) to brown up the skin. Works every time. Great snap and grease flies everywhere. Big Grin

Fairbury hot dogs. The bright red ones. Anyone here that has been to a Cornhusker game of any sorts know what I’m talking about.

Wimmer’s and/or Teifenthaler’s are real good as well.
