Hey asshole... knock it off.

(Actually it's many many assholes.) Roll Eyes

Let's forget for a moment that fireworks are illegal here... since you started shooting off your 4th of July fireworks in late May and will still be shooting them off in late August, what's the rush? Go to bed.

Staying up so I can comfort my dogs. Poor things. An hour ago I went outside and I could hear dogs going nuts in the distance. I also check in occasionally with my son who after his tour in Afghanistan hates the fireworks. There are rules on when they can be liftoff and what type of firework is allowed but there is no enforcement.

And I'm not talking firecrackers and little stuff, but big shit that's shaking the house and rattling the windows. Good lord.

A couple minutes till 2 now. Police helicopter went by about 5 minutes ago and it seems to have stopped. lol (at least in the neighborhood, I can still hear them occasionally off in the distance)

0400 and the Muckleshoot are still letting off big ones. I look east and the sky is full of flashes.

Same here. Due to a genuine high fire danger, everything down to firecrackers are illegal. Yet people are setting them off late into the night. They seem to not be high flying pyrotechnics, as the police are strongly enforcing the ban, but it is still dangerous and annoying.

A few folks in California really enjoyed a great fireworks event. Killed them, in fact!

I know a few people that have a lot of Tannerrite. They also make home made fireworks out of those commercial toliet paper tubes that are 3 or 4 inches in diameter. They were planning on having a big 4th of july party. Glad I am not around them.

A meme I saw yesterday said something to the effect of, “Someone in the United States has no clue that this is their last weekend with all ten fingers.” Big Grin

Same thing here, until like 3am or something. I was up all night (tired AF today). I literally saw one fall from the sky and land right behind my fence in the alley. It missed my property by just a few feet. They were letting them off one street over and at the park and it went on all fucking night. I guess they wore themselves out by 3 to 4am or they just lit too many Andrew Jacksons on fire, and ran out.

Man I hate all the fucking holidays. Every single one of them the sheep use it as an excuse to be absolute fucking morons with no regard for anyone else. It’s infuriating. I literally stayed up all night to make sure these fucks didn’t set my fence/house/vehicles on fire because every year our local news will show just that. A house burnt to the ground, vehicles, all from amateur hour bullshit. Mindless fucks. I had the fire extinguisher ready to go all night like I was in a damn war.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Nobody in my neighborhood, or neighboring neighborhoods, lights off fireworks. For one, it is illegal in our town. Our town has a large public one on the 3rd, and the next town over on the 4th. Both ended 10:15-10:30pm. And not a peep from anyone after that, we, along with our dog, slept soundly. It has been a long time since I have heard nearby fireworks.

The fighting is pretty intense tonight.... Big Grin

I'd say there may be more fireworks tonight than there were last night.

They're legal here. They go on all week. The dog hates them. I was lying on the couch the other night and he crawled up on top of me and just lay there and shook.

I hate the summer holidays, but it's not the fireworks. It's all the drunk idiots, the crowds, and the Karens. I worked 42 hours in 3 days last weekend because of our town's fireworks. It was 90 degrees, and about 20,000 people descended on our little community of 5,000. We had fights, medical calls, and some jackass shooting a rifle off his back porch.

Then last night for the actual 4th, the guy scheduled to work it wanted it off and they couldn't find any body else to cover so I gave in and volunteered (hard to pass up holiday pay). What a zoo that was...drunks, domestics, CPR calls, a big wreck, and a fire. Yeah, we had fireworks complaints, but didn't get to most of them because we were tied up dealing with real stuff. Of course the whole county was short because everybody who could took off, so that made it even crazier. I'm not gonna lie...it was fun to do real police work again for a few hours (day shift calls are a joke), but it was hotter and muggier than satan's taint out there and I had pretty much rotted through my uniform by 6:00am.

It was still hot today when I woke up. I'd have loved to go out and jump in the lake, but all the out of towners are here at their lake houses for the holidays, so unless you want to get run over or swamped by a drunk douchebag from Chicago in his $150k wake boat, it's best to stay off the lake for the weekend.

The lake communities to the north and south of us are both doing their fireworks shows right now. It sounds like Fallujah out there. I tried to hang out in the living room but the dog wasn't having it, so we went to bed. Apparently he feels safer in here.

Last evening a mix of gunfire(earlier, daylight), thunderstorms, then fireworks. My 10 y/o Shepherd has developed a low tolerance to all 3.

I had the TV on a little loud, trying to drown it out some. I think the 4th goes in for a month or more now.

My neighborhood usually sounds like a war zone . A week ago a two year old child was struck by a car and killed two blocks away . It's like nobody here is in a festive mood and the whole subdivision is quiet . Plenty of fireworks in the surrounding areas though .

Ditto to all the above. I vote we move July 4th to January 12th. That way dark starts at 5 pm and we'll get it over with earlier.

I feel for you there, man. My previous dog couldn’t handle the fireworks, nor thunder for that matter.
I certainly wish he could have felt half-comfortable lying next to or on top of me. Poor fella just couldn’t do it… couldn’t stay still at all. Frown

The locals (neighborhood goofs) put up a few loud boomers last night. I figure we’ll hear it again tonight, too.

God bless America.

My Vet recommended Benadryl to help with the anxiety. It worked pretty well. Ask him/her for the correct dosage for your Dog.

We live in a horse community. Neighbors across the street do not have horses and went the extra mile with fireworks Friday night freaking out all of our animals--horses, chickens, goats, LGDs--(all 5 outdoor/livestock guardian dogs were IN THE HOUSE until 3:30 Saturday morning).
Next door neighbor had a horse jump the fence and take off into the night. Another neighbor a couple of miles down the road called us saying they found a horse—the one that went missing.
So at 11:30pm Friday night i hooked up our horse trailer to bring the horse home.

Some people are assholes

I'm just sayin'- the newer lawnmowers with headlights allow you to mow at 4AM. If one were inclined to do so.
