I'm pretty sure I agree 100%. While I do NOT use profanity on a normal basis, there are most definitely some days and situations where I WILL spout the most appropriate expletive. It is NOT something I make a regular habit of, but I'm not denying that there is occasionally a time and place for the use of such words... just not ALL of the fucking time!!! _____________________________ Bill R. And I *almost* agree with you 100%! Personally, I have grown completely weary of the current society we live in where EVERY FUCKING THING has become... offensive. However, there ARE a few things that should be avoided if possible, and foul language is one of those... in my personal opinion! Now, regarding the foul language; I can tolerate it when it is appropriate... as I "hope" to have demonstrated by my previous responses. It just seems to me that "some" of you like to use it when it is not necessary. Again... just my opinion! Yes, Para... I fully understand your position on the use of foul language, and I do agree with your limitation of their use in post titles. I also agree that there is no limitation on their use in the body of posts... I was simply POSTING my opinion... which I assume has not been banned from this forum. While I prefer to not read foul language, I also agreed in becoming a member here to not be TOO putoff by it. Therefore, I choose to continue being a member here, and I do understand that some folks may prefer to use language that is below their IQ level... that is their choice! _____________________________ Bill R. But that’s your intent right? To insult those who use words you don’t like? You could have just said you don’t like foul language. But you had to take it just a step further and add that last part. It was a feeble attempt at an insult and you know it. I’m not offended. It just sucks that for some reason people seem to be unable to argue a position without resorting to personal attacks. Listen, you can take this and shove it where the sun don't shine., because I'm tired of hearing this from you, and one of the people you're referring to is me. First, you lay down the insult that people who use profanity are less intelligent- a concept which is demonstrably false. Then, when you get pushback on this, you mitigate your concept by saying "Well, people who use profanity are using language below their IQ level" and I don't even know what the fuck that is supposed to mean. One of the most intelligent men I ever knew- someone with an intellect that could be downright intimidating without even trying- cursed like a drunken sailor. I do not consider myself unintelligent; far from it. If you think you can judge the intelligence of a man by the seasoning of his speech, you're the one who needs to question their own intellect. And, once again, this is the last time I intend to address this non-issue this calmly. The next long time member of this board- who should know better- whines about "bad words", I'm comin' down on the like a ton of bricks. Any further comments before I lock this? | |||
