You never ate at my local BBQ joint. Heartbroken was also used in the new story about when it closed.

If you think that’s bad, the Brit “Daily Mail” has a tendency to use the word “glamorous” frequently in headlines whenever a reasonably attractive female is involved in some salacious incident.

"Alleged" is used to prevent blowback from legal issues with libel and accusation of defamation.

"Someone said he was a "poopie pants", vs, "I know he is a poopie pants!"
One will get you a beat down on the playground, while you might be able to weasel out of with the other statement.
In a lawsuit, one will get you a pass, and the other will cost you money.

Yeah, it's a bit irritating.

In the small town, you know she's a whore. I know she's a whore. Everyone knows she's a whore.
But, say it out loud, and/or in public, and everyone gives you the stink eye because you dared to say it.

Hypocrisy in action.

Historic, or record breaking. Most of the time it’s not.

It’s not historic that a trans woman won miss universe. It’s fucking weird and insulting to women.

They have to say it for legal reasons. Not saying it violates the "innocent until proven guilty" principle. Proven as in convicted with due process in a court of law.
