Not in my case . My only symptom was high heart rate . No pain or anything else . I had a bed immediately

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You got lucky. I have seen patients wait a full day during covid reclining on a comfy bed in the hall.

I had four different trips to the ER for the same condition . SVT . Every time all I had to say was " Heart " and it was game on . My Cardiologist finally talked me into the Ablation procedure and I haven't been back .

Late 1960"s was involved in a auto accident (I was the driver of a VW Beetle Bug) and my forehead struck the windshield and was bleeding /transported to a local community hospital and placed in a hallway waiting to be checked out. After about 1/2hour i physically tripped a nurse to get some attention.. When i told her to go get the hospital head nurse or the hospital head pharmasist that they were my aunt and uncle i instantly covered like a sugar pile swarmed by a ant nest and was taken in for treatment.......................... drill sgt.

Every few months I hear (on the scanner) fire get dispatched to the ER of the nearby hospital on a medical call.

Why? Someone has been waiting too long to be treated. Roll Eyes

Hmmm. Will have to talk to administration about that. Sounds like your ER is overstaffed. It is expensive having doctors just hanging out waiting for something to happen. Maybe your hospital only has a lower level ER.

Twice I went to an 'urgent care center'. Same symptoms, namely vertigo. The first time, I said I was feeling really dizzy and they took me right in. Is "dizzy" a code word for "possible heart attack"? Or maybe stroke? So the nurses and technicians ran every test they could think of and found nothing. Then a real doctor finally came in and talked to me. Took him about a minute to figure out I was suffering from fluid in my inner ear. A quick trip to the pharmacy (OTC med) and it was all taken care of. Second time, a few years later, same symptoms only worse. This time they did an ECG and some blood work and told me to go to the nearest ER and they would make sure the ER was expecting me. They thought it was a heart attack and when I got there they had 5 - count `em, 5 - cardiologists waiting for me. Must have been a slow day. They were seriously disappointed when it turned out to be a pulmonary embolism. Ya never know.

Definitely not " Lower Level " . Just the opposite . I guess they prioritize heart issues over upper respiratory infections and earaches .

If you're watching videos on your phone using the speaker in a public space where others can hear, you're an idiot. People have no respect for others around them.
