They will just return it for a refund at WalMart. Big Grin

One time working at Lowes, some of the customers were returning their artificial trees for refunds. Some of the trees still had the tinsel hanging on them. Big Grin

Smart move. Love mine. Toilet paper lasts a long time when you’ve got a wash & blow dry. Wink

Gee, I can't imagine why.
Understandable. Sounds like you have a problem understanding the concept of a maintenance shop that is so busy that they are scheduled weeks, if not months, ahead, and have no time for pop-ups.

Their hangar is directly opposite mine, I frequently take my sandwich over there when they break for lunch. The gentleman who runs the place is one of the founders and past president of out gun club. He has helped me do things like change sights on a handgun.

I see their schedule board on the wall in the office. There are several airplanes ahead of us, previously scheduled for annual inspections and / or major maintenance. We are on the list, but not at the top. He has offered to try to find a mechanic with some spare time, to work under his supervision and pull the engine, but to date, he has not found anybody available.

Did our sams club coffee and dog food run yesterday. The door checker gave us the oos on the way in. Tp/paper towels.
As we shopped I noticed the usual bread and milk was pretty much gone, most of the fresh fish and fresh vegetables were gone, they still had various varieties of oranges and a full selection of dates. They had signs at the baby section, formula 2 per, diapers 2 per family and the wipes as well. I wonder how many brainiacs have gotten the wipes and diapers for their own use. I asked the kid who boxed our stuff. He laughed and said he hadn’t noticed, but it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
The logistics of refilling the pipeline with items is going to be a huge job, with everyone working under the just in time mantra. There just aren’t as many independent truckers left to pick up all the excess. I’m sure there are huge amounts of warehoused tp, just no trucks to deliver it. My dogs and I are content they got peanut butter bones and salmon kibble,I got green mountain coffee..my life is good.

I looked and it looks like I need new toilet lids to make one work. I'll just use the shower if it comes to that.

The other day I went to Home Depot to find some Vinyl Insulation tape as I am adding some outlets to the basement and cutting up the insulation. They didn’t stock it but the guy that helped me said he had a roll just sitting at his house collecting duct. He offered it to me and to come by the next morning to pick it up.

The next morning I went back with a roll of TP in hand thinking I’d do a fair barter for the roll of tape.

Well, when I presented the TP he didn’t even crack a smile and said no thanks’. What?!?!?!? Thought for sure he’d see the joke in it all....

No, I just figured since you've been a flight instructor and pilot since the Wright brothers flew, and in the same area for a while, that you'd have special pull with a few different aircraft repair shops. Perhaps you should bring them sandwiches, instead of just taking your sandwich over and hanging out...….

I understand maintenance shops completely, as I own a Yacht Management business which manages and maintains yachts. I deal with mechanics and various vendors on a daily basis. I have zero issues of getting the MAN diesel dealer for Fort Lauderdale to come out within 24 hours, or CAT dealer or just about any well respected vendor in the marine industry etc. In fact, if I call them with a service call, they'll ask me if they can come out a few days later as they're busy, or do I need them to come out first thing tomorrow morning or even that day. In fact, the Dometic A/C dealer did just that for me this morning, called them at 8am, they shifted their schedule around and we're at the yacht at 9am. But they all like me and I never haggle price.

Trying to understand the correlation between a licensed A&P mechanic and an Air Conditioner service guy.

Yacht air conditioning. Specialized field in the marine industry. But can get out one of the diesel manufacturers dealers same/next day as well.

I still don't get it. An A&P mechanic screws up, you die. If an A&P mechanic screws up the FAA pulls his certificate and he ends up sweeping floors.

I'm sure with a few phone calls I can a licensed A+P mechanic in Florida to start on the job this week, perhaps not in Orlando but in Florida. With Sun and Fun cancelled and what's going on in the world, there are a few A+P shops that have availability, and a few pilot friends of mine have good connections with a few A+P mechanics and shops. IE you shouldn't be waiting months for someone to start fixing your airplane IF you have been good to them and are a good customer. My point is, with his decades of being an instructor, one would think he should know several A+P certified shops and mechanics and one of them would put him at the top of the list...….one would think.

A friend of mine had a warbird completely rebuilt after he had to belly land it from a blown motor, in less than 3 months total time, by a warbird specialist. Including finding a complete rebuilt motor for it.

I swung by our local Smiths (think Kroger) today for some distilled water. Out of curiosity, I walked by the TP aisle and was surprised to see they had some on the shelf. I didn’t buy any. I’ll admit, I was surprised to see some.

If your diet changes because of food shortages, yea. Anyway, that’s what I’m thinking.

How about we make a deal: I don't tell you how to fix your canoes, and you don't tell me how to fix my airplane.

There is a reason that the shop has a waiting list. They are the best in the area.

"you shouldn't be waiting months for someone to start fixing your airplane IF you have been good to them and are a good customer. So, you are saying that I should try to push my way to the front of the line, when other customers have been waiting patiently? Really? What if you were one of the people who were on the schedule, and somebody pushed in front of you? Is that how you do business, Jimmy? Just as long as you get what you want, and screw everybody else? Is that what you are suggesting that I do?

That might be your way of doing things. Not mine. I want this shop to do the work because they are the best in the area. I will show the same consideration to those ahead of me in line, as I would expect from them.
