The more I read or hear about America-hating traitors like Spanberger and Ilhan Omar et.al., the more frustrated I get.

To the point that I fantasize about some pretty drastic responses.

I very much fear that we will NEVER be free of these vile creatures, especially since no one in the House or Senate seems to have the balls to do anything definitive about it.

I hear you. I believe in the exceptionalism of America and have raised my children to believe in the same. I do my best to stay in control of my emotions while being decisive in the actions of things in my control. These people believe that they are part of an elite class (all of Congress included) and I believe that power and control is an inherent part of human nature. Not without its faults and mistakes, but maybe the American experiment was exceptional because it was mostly guided by a moral compass that stressed personal freedom and liberty.

I tend to group people into the following categories. Elites, Agitators, Useful Idiots, and the Masses. The Masses want to be left alone and the Elites want them subjugated. The two groups in the middle are just pawns in the game. I know who and where I am in the game.

My final thoughts. While I pay attention and stay well informed, I tend to limit my exposure to the information and babbling about the left. I have a duty to protect my family, protect my country, and protect those that cannot protect themselves. Frederick Douglas talked about the three boxes, the soap box, the ballot box, and the cartridge box. I won’t guess at how it ends or fantasize about armed conflicts but I do believe these competing ideologies cannot coexist. I try to stay focused on the things in my life that make me happy. I’m grateful for my spouse, my awesome adult children, and my faith. In a conversation with General Anthony Zinni back in 2004, he stated he was willing to die for his family, his country, and his God. I had a hard time disagreeing with his simplicity and it made me realize to that point I had never had that internal conversation for myself. None of us make it out of this game alive. Focus on the things that make you happy and the things you can control. I found clarity and peace by reading the teachings of the great stoics studying the philosophy of stoicism.

Yeah, I've turned them off, and trying to get my SM feeds to eliminate a lot of the political posts.

Half that stuff or more is AI/Bot posting, not a real person making a comment.

Takes a lot of work to get away from it's 24/7 assault on your life.

In some ways the political stuff put in our faces is probably worse for your brain than porn... since it's all day, every day.

They only care about power and the graft money it provides. They hang out with the far left of the party, so the single strategy they learn about is to simple Hate Trump. Orange man bad, Russia, Russia, Russia, then Epstein, and lately how lawless he is without EVER citing law correctly or a single truthful example.

If you get emotional about such things, then yes, stop receiving information about them. I see people get worked up over stuff they can't do anything about.

The basic issue is they don't know how to set and recognize boundaries.

I set boundaries. I do what I have to do to keep what is inside my boundaries in proper order. If something that is outside my boundaries is not to my liking, I don't care; it's not in my backyard. If it's outside my boundaries and is affecting or can affect what's in my boundaries, then I do something about it but beyond doing what I can do about it, I just dispassionately consider how I can live with the problem or remove either myself from the problem or the problem from myself.
