Actually, most cars on paper tags that don't look freshly bought [clean/detailed] I give a wide berth.
And they will probably never be pulled over.

Multiple scam companies in TX printing temp tags. Looks identical to a dealer printed tag, so not sure they look fishy enough for a stop, unless there's other cause.

Read something about couple years ago on it, state losing millions in vehicle registration revenue, IIRC.

Tell tale out here (esp. in the Valley) is 2/3 of the wheel's width sticking out past the body, usually on a small car.

I concur 100% on the Texas drivers… specially DFW. The dumbass drivers I see multiple times a day are what I use to expect in Dallas. Now it’s everywhere. Don’t even get me started on Houston. I’ve had dash cams in our cars for a few years and cannot recommend them enough.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

When did they move I-75?
I have driven I-75 from Michigan to Florida & back and never went through Texas.

OP is not correct. I-75 is not in Texas, but US Hwy 75 does go through Plano, Texas.

I-75 is not the same thing as US Hwy 75. Two different roads, separated by hundreds of miles and a common number.

I lived in Garland, and Rowlett back from 1997-2001. Traffic was a shitshow back then, and cell phones weren’t common. Dallas traffic made me absolutely hate driving.

Sorry you’re having to suffer through that slog daily.

I can’t imagine how much worse traffic is now, 25 years later.
