Don't forget the dognappers.

"Does anyone know whose little precious this is (insert photo)? We found him wandering down Rosedown and brought him home."

He was freaking GOING home you idiot. May have been within sight before you dognapped him.

Or the best of the 8 years we've lived with these idiots:

"We found the sweet puppy in the picture below. He is in our fenced back yard, you can pick him up there. We are leaving town for the week."

Oh, so if the dog is unfortunate enough to have owners who don't live on or even use Facebook, he is just going to die in your yard?

I have lost track of how many times my response has been removed "for being disrespectful." Problem is, any sane response to some of these questions will be judged to be disrespectful.

Real thread:

“Does anyone know what dead animal the fire department came July 22 to pick up in the open field off Lee Blvd near the Mall???”

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." This is rich. I don’t know if the link works for anyone else but me.

Someone answered probably a deer. They add so many are getting hit and people are pushing for a wildlife bridge.

Someone else asks, “how will the deer know that bridge is for them?”

Reminds me of the radio skit where the woman caller says the deer crossing sign should be moved to a less dangerous spot for the deer to cross.

I spent 30 years knowing exactly why the police were where they are. Nowadays I just don’t give a crap anymore. Unless they are going REALLY fast and REALLY loud it ain’t nuthin’ but a thang.

Nextdoor and the community FB groups here are the same way. Has gotten even worse lately since our regional dispatch system went to full encryption on the dispatch talk groups rendering scanners useless.

Not the non-emergency number (which you still shouldn't call) but actual 9-1-1.

Took a lot of those calls over the years. I would tell them “Gee, our power is on - have you called your electric company?” Of course I didn’t mention we had whole building generators and a 2 week supply of diesel.

Also enjoyed the ”Was that an earthquake? (Yes) and the occasional ”Will there be another one? follow up question which I would. Always answer with “eventually”
