It was an absolutely beautiful day today in central Florida. I have had the windows open all day and now that it is cooling off nicely someone in my neighbor hood is smoking pot, again. It absolutely stinks up the neighborhood.

I just had to closed my windows because someone either sits in their garage with the door open or is sitting in their back yard.

It's nice they can enjoy the nice weather but I can't because someone is to inconsiderate to smoke that shit in their house, oh wait they don't want to stink up their own house so they stink up the neighborhood instead.

The days of ditch weed smell never bothered me. This new stuff, nauseating. Even just growing it nauseates me. There’s a spot on the way to my cousin’s house that the stench is strong enough to knock a buzzard off a turd truck. As I approach that area I have the windows up, hit the recirculate button on the HVAC system and go.

This new stuff smells like someone ran over a skunk and tossed it my back yard.

A few differences about someone drinking a beer vs. pot. If I'm sitting next to someone drinking a beer I can't smell it when he opens it, I can't smell it while he is drinking it, there is zero chance of me getting intoxicated if I don't touch it. Having one beer doesn't make him reek like he's been swimming in it for the next hour.

Tired of people telling it it's no different than beer, it's a LOT different.

It's strong enough that I've noticed it just from a car driving by. And, since Maine legalized it, it's EVERYWHERE!

Colorado seems to be the Mecca of weed smoking morons.
Going for my nightly jog I get to breathe the stink from quite a few houses along my route.

I had some neighbors like that. If it wasn't screaming profanity and verbal domestics, it was weed smoke, and when they weren't doing that they were almost constantly burning trash, complete with plastic and an obscene number of used disposable diapers. The raccoons would then drag the stuff that didn't burn completely into my yard. The weed smoke was the least objectionable of the three.

Finally they left their trash fire smoldering one windy night and it blew into the garage and set the whole place on fire. It spread to the house, but thankfully everybody got out. They moved away after that, and the slumlord landlord tore the garage down and just threw new metal over the charred rafters in the attic of the house (not kidding...I watched them do it). There's a new guy living in there now, and he may be cooking meth for all I know, but at least he's quiet, keeps to himself, and doesn't burn trash.

I had a neighbor that drove 45 mph to 60 mph through a 25 mph residential street with cars parked along the curb and routinely 4 to 12 kids out playing in the street. Within 2 minutes of the garage door closing, the weed smell would emanate from their back porch.

I don't care if she smokes weed on her own property but:
  • the fuck everyone else attitude irks me. Braking distance quadruples when speed doubles, and it makes it more likely to hit a kid stepping out from behind a car parked on the street. Slow down and take the 30 second delay to begin your weed smoking.
  • my builder built the fresh air intake to my HVAC system right next to their porch. I got stuck smelling that damn skunk smell inside my house.

Makes me wonder. In my area, edibles are readily available, and I would tend to think less damaging to the lungs. What gets me is groups of young men coming into the store after playing basketball or working out, then sitting in a car for a half hour smoking skunk weed. Body funk and dope is an unpleasant smell.

I must be fortunate, because when taking my dog for a 2 or 3 mile walk I have never smelled any Pot, either Ditch or Skunk. Actually I sort of liked the smell of Pot back in the 70's. As for Skunk Weed I can understand the complaints but don't have any first hand experience with it and I do live in a fully populated City neighborhood. Makes me wonder if all those years damaging my lungs smoking cigarettes has desensitized me to Skunk Pot.

    I've stopped counting.

Would you like to sit next to a septic tank diver while he's still in his "work clothes"? Now answer that truthfully. Because I have been told that Skunk Weed really is that bad.

I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or serious so here we go,

As far as I am concerned pot is still a schedule 1 substance according to the federal government. As far as states breaking federal law, I don't agree with it. What laws should the states ignore next.

If people want so bad to make it legal then they should talk to their congressman to change the law.
As such I do not want to be, nor should I have to be around or near someone breaking the law. As far as it being used for medical purposes, fine just use it inside your own home, however in my opinion people, not all but some are using the medical excuse just to be able to buy their pot to get high.
The problem is, if I were to call the Sherriff I would be told their is nothing they can do about it.

This stuff smells like, well worse than shit and because someone is to inconsiderate to not pollute the air in my neighborhood I cant keep my windows open. They do this because they do not want to permeate their own homes with the stench, and that is what it is. If they don't like the stench in their homes buy an air purifier.

Imagine if you spent tens of thousand of dollars putting a pool in you back yard with, thousands of dollars in landscaping but you can't use the pool or invite friend over because of this.

Also it is getting worse not only here but on the roads. On a nice day I have to keep my car windows closed when I am driving because almost every time I was out driving last year the smell on the roads was overwhelming.

Or maybe I am just an old fuddy duddie Wink
