Even where I live I see so many posts of people asking for money. They say they lost their job, have nowhere to live, etc, but apparently can still pay for a cellphone.

Call me cynical, but maybe one is true but I feel most are scams. For fun I have researched some and see the same people posting on different platforms with different stories at the same time. Digital scamming/panhandling. People explain options they have such as food banks and they give every excuse of why they just need cash.

I do like the way you work, sir. Smile

I thought that was slick as well!

Yeah, that was my mistake.

A local friend asked me to weigh in on a school bond issue. I didn’t have an account but signed up so I could add my .02¢. Nothing wrong witha little civic participation, right? Roll Eyes

Opposing more funding for our bloated school system was on par with supporting child sacrifice. It got so bad that people were threatening me with physical violence whenever I would post something.

I laughed it off until the Mrs. told me that our address, which NextDoor said was required to confirm we were local, was visible to people on the site.

I closed my account that afternoon. I wasn’t worried, but who needs the aggravation?

Florida will have Constitutional Carry in a few days. Concealed Carry without a permit becomes legal, effective July 1, 2023.

This has unleashed a shitstorm of uninformed hysterical posting on the local NextDoor site.

It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Haha...I quickly realized I will not be participating in our local Nextdoor, but I do actually look at it occasionally. I have extracted some local information from it that might not be easily available...people post the most unusual stuff.

We have equivalent FB pages called " Rants and Raves " and some that are just neighborhood pages . They all have their moments when the page is just consumed with stupid people and comments . Cable or power outages are some of the worst situations . Or sirens in the distance ..

I'm not on the thing but my daughter sends me stuff occasionally. A couple of months ago there was a post about gunfire coming from an 'undeveloped' area. Nervousness followed. Yep seems like lots of gun fire. Now its automatic weapons. Can't be, say the wise ones because they are illegal.

Where are you specifically? a 'neighbor asked. 'Across from the navy base', she replied.

Look on the county website, they are having a live fire exercise tonight. he says.

Why are sailors shooting guns, she asks.

Same guy, "It's probably not sailors it's probably Marines."

Why would Marines be on a Navy (Nuclear Submarine) Base?

She informed all that she was going to call her congress-puke and tattle.

That sub base has been here longer than I've been anywhere and I've been here a loooong time. So welcome to America Karen.
