I put the Agency 6 Recovery Hitch Shakle in my Amazon list like 2 years ago and it was $55. Last year it went up to like $69.
Now it is $119!!!!!!!!!
Great Googly Moogly!!!!!!! Some YouTube Douche Magoos must have made videos or something spiking its popularity. No way materials and manufacturing have spiked that much.

my first thought was tarriffs. It says its made in America but their aluminum might be sourced from Canada.

If you want something I wouldnt put off buying it as everything is going to continue to go up in price imho

I can't remember the specific automotive detailing product, but the OEM sold it direct on Amazon. They sold it at a reasonable price (i.e. comparable to competitors) but it was never in stock from their store. I'd get the camelcamelcamel good price notice in my inbox while I slept and by the time I'd wake up the OEM's normal price product would be out of stock. Of course, it'd be in stock at other Amazon "stores" for double the price.

A YouTuber finally figured out what was happening and did a video about it. Some asshat kept buying 100% of the OEM's inventory every time they made it available on Amazon and reselling on his Amazon store for 2x the cost of the OEM.

One of the flaws in the Amazon store concept.

Inflation is out of control.

Set up a price alert for 69.35 and I bet you'll get a notification within a week or two.

69.35. Wink

Amazon sellers will ask ridiculously marked up prices knowing some poor suckers will pay it. Set a price alert and be patient.

A few months ago, I was shopping for the 144ft set of Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights. When I first checked the price, they were $156.00. A few days later, they were $190. These fluctuating prices were from the same seller. I set a price alert for the lowest price of $116. A couple of weeks later, I get a notification they were available for $116 so I purchased them.

I just take a standard hitch insert and remove the ball and replace it with a shackle.
It is heavy duty enough for anything I do.
Have pulled several cars out of ditch or snow drifts with it.

I know that China Freight is not everyone’s cup of tea but the price difference is significant…

And in this instance with many so is the quality of the product, the material used, and options.

Not opposed to the Harbor Freight but if you look it can only be used one (well the finally 2) but the one above I posted there are multiple depth options as well as angle options.

Also, the finish and smoothness of the metal on the Harbor Freight D ring is a bit scary.

And we have 3 more products that have jumped to insane prices!

Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season 285/45R22 Tires
I bought one in November for $270 they are now $374 each!!!!!

Amazon Echo Spot (newest model)
I just bought one less than a month ago for $70 they are now $110!!!!!

Computer Hard Drive Prices have gone INSANE!!!!
Granted the last one of these I bought was 2022 but

Western Digital 4TB WD Purple Surveillance Internal Hard Drive HDD - 5400 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache, 3.5"
I paid $90 they are now $245

Western Digital 8TB Elements Desktop External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 external hard drive for plug-and-play storage
I paid $125 on sale 3 years ago and it is now $379

All of these things are things I’d like to buy again and wow what a sticker shock.

Funny thing is I tried to add a price alert for the Amazon Echo and when I say create price alert it says we see that you just recently bought one so there in no need for you to be notified of a lower price!

Bought a set of Hankook tires for my 67 Pontiac 2+2 in May from Amazon. They’ll age out before they wear out and I refuse to buy Coker reproduction tires, it’s no 100 point car.

Anyhow, 81 dollars and some change each. We put them on in July and I thought about buying another one for the spare as it was old too and a bit larger being a 235/75 vs. 225/70’s on it and it’s a positraction car. Looked at the current price, now 119 each.

Not only have hard drive prices skyrocketed, the quality has plummeted. Looking at the reviews from several vendors saying the drives do not last very long. WD was mentioned several times about the short life expectancy.

Don't look at nVme or ram prices Eek

We used to order laptops with a spinner and low ram, then swap in an SSD & more ram in the office.

I forget the actual numbers, but 16gb [DDR4] of ram jumped from sub-$100 to over $300.

We can add fully synthetic oil to the list.

June of this year a 5 liter jug of LiquiMoly was 53.46 now it is 62.72.

Not a huge deal as I return it for the full purchase price when I am done with it.
Minus the $20 it cost to ship the used oil back however I bet that is up to $30.

Costco's house brand oil just about doubled, and they now have limits on how much you can buy. Still cheaper than Mobil 1 at WalMart, but not by much.

The oil price hike was explained some time ago in this and other videos. The war damage to the Shell GTL plant was a huge blow.
