Covered two of them already:
  • Houston's idiotic culture of installing swangas (i.e. what P250 called uper wide wire wheel hubcaps) on their slabs (i.e. idiot name for slow, low, and banging cars)
  • The Carolina squat on pick-ups

The third one is the bro dozer. Urbandictionary has the best definition:
    quote:
A pick-up truck that the owner took to the truck accessory store and said "give me the micropenis compensation package." In other words - lift kit, oversize wheels, off-road tires, hub spacers (because the oversize knobby tires and wheels aren't taking up enough parking already), light bar, and a trailer hitch. It'll never be intentionally taken off-road and the trailer hitch will never tow anything.

^^^ Extra "bro-points" for spiked lug nuts.

A safety hazard if, for example, one is parked next to your car and you have to squeeze past them, raking up your shins.

I saqy pretty much to each his own. If you like it, knock yourself out. If I had to have a gripe, I think it would be some of these obscenely bright headlights that seem so popular these days. They're just obnoxious. Oh, and while it's not bothersome to me, per se, I think some of these extra high jacked up trucks just look dumb.

Do explain the SVO trying to look like a Pontiac. I love me some Fox bodies and love the 2.3L Turbo Lima motors but the SVO is not one of the best looking unfortunately.

Idunno, just seemed at first glance the front end design was similar to the Grand-Am at the time.

Admittedly, the mid and rear section doesn't.

    Yes I do.

An 8.3L V-10 with exhaust cutouts sounds like no other!

33’s and lift kits on trucks that will never, ever, see off-road or anything 4X4.

Fart cans of any kind on Civics, etc.

    Coal roller exhausts on Diesels.

Neon of any kind. LED’s in wheel wells.

    Rubber band tires.

As a gearhead I could go on for days but I’ll spare y’all. Big Grin

My uncle just got a new ZR2 Colorado. Factory 33s
Nice truck, and it will never see dirt.
Coworker has the same truck in Trail Boss trim. IIRC it's on 31s, but his sees truck duty & some light ranch roads a few times a year.

Last month on US-23 in VA, a "bro-dozer" with those passed me at night, lit up brighter than Tim Allen's house at Christmas. I was only too happy to let him go on ahead.

For me the worst is one I've seen only recently: flashing lights on what is pretty clearly not an emergency vehicle. I would think that would be very illegal.
Also on flashing lights: super bright flashing flashing flashing taillights.

    Illegal, I'm almost 100% sure that's a yes on a non-emergency vehicle

Had a neighbor whose son got stopped for having blue halos on the headlights of his Jeep.
He was 17 & got a verbal warning on ignorance. He was a good kid, so he was happy with it & learned a bit more of driving laws wrt light colors on vehicles on the road.

I don't like the blinky brake lights, but they do catch your attention, as they're intended to do.

Those super wide wire wheel hubcaps. Has to be a hazard with the width, most look wide enough to technically require clearance lights. And they have to vibrate like crazy, no way you can spin balance it.

Found the photo, maybe the widest I've seen on the road here:
And on a Kia no less. Usually it's a Buick or cheap

I believe you when you say you took the pic but surely that can’t be legal.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Absolutely, jacked up with the tires sticking out.

Somebody called them “fart cans” on P2, and I assume that refers to (mostly) Japanese cars with the annoyingly loud exhaust systems. Hate that, and my experience is that performance is decidedly not improved.

"Cold air intakes," often home-made, that are non-functional, leaving the filter in the middle of the engine bay heat.

Even a proper one doesn't do anything. There was a multi-page thread on this a few years ago.

I dislike lifted pickup trucks that see no dirt trails whatsoever, and especially those that are modified for rolling coal, that shit is beyond annoying.

I can see someone getting better wheel sets to replace their OEM ones, but it's like breast implants; going from a 32B to a 34C is subtle and fine in my book, but going from 32B to a 41D is just grotesque, I've seen cars that look just like a silly Hot Wheels toy.

And it doesn't really bug me too much, but I am puzzled by guys painting their cars in flat/matte black. To me, I would think it would absorb so much more heat and sunlight than even glossy black.

    The intentional backfiring ones.

The rest of them, no matter how stupid I may think they are, it's your car, do what you want. But the backfiring bullshit, you ARE bugging me.

More of an accessory than a mod, but truck nuts. I also had when vehicles are so low that they can't cross speed bumps. Also excessively loud vehicles.
