Raised Cowl Induction hoods on Mustangs when the higher hood height is not needed. I really hate the looks of cowl hoods across the board. However cowl hoods on 96-98 Cobras really bug me. The hoods on the 96-98 Cobras are perfect, those raised nostrils are just enough pop with the center bulge. I'll have to find the photo I took recently. Those super wide wire wheel hubcaps. Has to be a hazard with the width, most look wide enough to technically require clearance lights. And they have to vibrate like crazy, no way you can spin balance it. Found the photo, maybe the widest I've seen on the road here: And on a Kia no less. Do explain the SVO trying to look like a Pontiac. I love me some Fox bodies and love the 2.3L Turbo Lima motors but the SVO is not one of the best looking unfortunately. The early Foxes didn't look nearly as good as the layer ones, IMO. My buddy, at one point had 4. A parts hatchback, 2 rollers [notch & hb] and a 4cyl hb for a daily. The Notch roller was getting a 347 stroker. He's still got the engine, but the foxes are all gone. One day, the stroker might make its way into his 66 coupe. The Enemy's gate is down. | |||

Carolina Squat trucks: ![]() The one pictured is a mild example. Some get really nuts. They are now outlawed in several states - both Carolinas, TN, VA to my knowledge. No way can you see where you're going or get the headlights down to where they actually illuminate the road. Overlapping: low profile tires partially or even wholly (needing spacers) outside of the fenders. "Donk" cars: ![]() One thing you can say for them: they don't scrape on every driveway, speed bump and so on, and they can drive through some pretty deep water. ![]() At the other extreme: excessive lowering. These have the additional problem of screwing up the alignment, as evidenced by the extreme negative camber on the front and sometimes the rear wheels. And often, again with the wheels/tires outside of the fenders. These (and their owners) were a constant source of annoyance when I was doing alignments.This message has been edited. Low Riders in general. Yes, yes, "to each his own", but in my prejudiced, unsophisticated mind, they ALL look dumber than hell and are demonstrably impractical. I can almost forgive a well done '64 Chebby, but pickups? Please. Being of limited funds, my car fantasies are limited to 1:25 scale models. I am a member of a model building forum and check it daily. I get all excited about somebody building a "53 Ford Shop Truck" and open the thread only to find they've "slammed" it, and added ridiculously large tires and rims you can only see half of. Click. Lighting beneath the vehicle and/or in the wheel wells or on brake rotor dust shields. There are some very confused young white males where I live. That first Cobra in the OP was one of the nicest-looking SN95 cars I'd ever seen, until I noticed what appears to be a .50BMG antenna goober. Maybe add those to the list too. Anything excessively loud drives me nuts too. There're a few vehicle that drive past where I work regularly that must have open headers. And they're not even some dingus thinking he's suped-up his sports car; one of them is an unassuming generic white sedan (and I don't mean that in the "sleeper" sense). | |||

Correct. The late 70s are so plain and the early 80s 4 eyes take some work to look good but can be done. The early 90s LX Hatch and Coupe and 93 Cobras are still my favorite followed by the 96-98s then the 03/04 Cobras.
I did not look that closely and just thought it was a stubby antenna. Think those 50 Cals are silly to but that is an easy fix. Also not a fan of black Bullits. I had factory anthracite Bullits on my 96 Laser red GT and they looked good but I traded those straight for a set of OEM 03/04 Cobras.
Aftermarket wheels can be properly done. I like the ones on my truck as they are just a simple 5 spoke design. But I swapped wheels for a number of reason factory wheels were 20” and I did not want a bigger tire than a 33” so I dropped to 17” wheels. Lots more sidewall for ride comfort on the daily and better to air down when off road, still lots of tread for off-roading with just a 33”. I also shaved 18 pounds a corner from the factory wheels and tires if memory serves me correctly. I also don’t like super lifted trucks either. I went 2” in the front and 1/2” in the back to add just a bit more ground clearance for when I get to off-road. I liked the factory wheels on your truck, but your new ones look pretty good as well, and you get extra points for practicality. What I object to are the ones people put on simply for cosmetic "enhancement" that end up making the truck unusable as a truck, and usually uglify it as well. | |||
