| I got a google voice message from Amazon. A 769 dollar charge from Dayton Ohio was hitting my account. Press 1 to connect to Amazon customer svc. Actually I received about 10 of these messages. All from different phone numbers, but they all had my local area code and prefix. |

| Amazon -- "someone is using your account to order items -- "press 1 to speak to a customer rep". I don't have an Amazon account. Apple -- "you only have until the end of today to pay your Apple account". Damn, I don't have an Apple product.

| It's a wonder they can ring through, with all the time the car extended-warranty people spend on my line.
=== I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

| When the number comes up as possible SPAM I answer them in what little German I know, or hand over the phone to GF who answers in Italian.

| Ha, I got a voicemail yesterday, that my credit card / debit card will be charged $799.99 for services. If I don’t want to renew to dial 1 or call the number. Yeah, right. Didn’t specify WHAT services, or what this was from. Delete. I don’t answer calls unless I recognize the caller. |

| I hate these people with a passion.
My dad calls me one day and asks me if this sounds right. He tells me Microsoft is on the other line and ....
I really do hate them. |

| Yes, and the packages that need attention to deliver. I was just working with a guy yesterday who has an elderly relative that fell for the ‘computer problem’ scam. He gave them control of his computer, they eventually took $3k out of one of his accounts.
Theses scams work on a few. |

| "Windows" called my 85 year old mom. Yup, they got a CC# out of her. Water-boarding would not be out of line with these leeches.

His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm.

What happens when they do? Do they fuck up the computer with ransomware or other viruses, go on a spending spree with the newly obtained number, both, or what? A call to the CC company could get most or all of the bogus charges reversed, the computer is another story. |
