I did what I did because it needed done. Had the vet said quality of life would return, I would have a new dog.

I guess I shared more to let go of the anger toward the driver than anything else. I go through spells of really disliking society. Bitching is my release. Smile

You did a wonderful thing. Most would have driven right by.

Major karma points in the bank for you.

I never got to interact with that sweet dog, and I am sitting here in tears for her. Good on the OP for caring and getting involved.

Same here. I can barely see the screen.

Thank you for doing the right thing for that poor baby.

I thank you for your kindness, I'm sure that in those few hours with her she felt comfort and safety.

It takes special people to show this sort of kindness to God's little creatures.

OLD THREAD ALERT

30 Oct 2026 I am drug back to the bridge. This time it is my dog Hudson that has crossed. He got out of the yard in the middle of the night and was hit by a vehicle. His sister Greta didn't get hit, but likely was close when it happened. Unfortunately, I located him on the way to drop off the youngest at school. He didn't see Hudson so that is another thing to go through this evening.

Here's Hudson as I remember him. He had quirks, but was a cuddler.

In closing, of you ever happen to hit a dog or cat (or anything that might be a pet) please take the time to stop and attempt to find the owner. Driving away is a coward's choice....

I’m very sorry to read this and I’m glad you were able to shield your kids from this for the time being.
It sucks from multiple different angles.
