It has gotten totally out of control. Social media especially has made it worse.

Social media does seem to bring out all the fools, doesn't it?

This is the one day of the year that I don't believe anybody or anything online. Too many people get carried away and the "pranks" end up just being mean or stupid, not fun.

Though occasionally some company gets in on it and introduces something goofy and silly and it's fun, until some dipshit falls for it and gets mad.

I sent this to my wife last night. I've been sending her links to booster seats all day. It keeps me entertained, and luckily she thinks it's funny too.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Last night on “Jeopardy”, the final answer was this quote from Mark Twain.

The multi-day leading contestant, who prides himself on being a BUREAUCRAT (?!), leading with over $54,000+, bet over $40,000 that he’d guess the correct question. Ken Jennings even gave a hint that the show was airing on April Fools Day !!!!

You want to guess what happened? Yup, that was not what he wrote down as a final question to the answer. He still won the “Final Jeopardy” category as the other closest got it right, but couldn’t have won even by doubling her beat.

Guess he lived up to Mark Twain’s statement. Big Grin

I pranked some visitors to our office yesterday. Chamber of Commerce ladies, with a police officer as escort. I opened the door and said "Guten Tag. Wie geht es Ihnen?". Big Grin The looks on their faces were priceless. Then I said, "Howdy y'all, come on in." Smile

I didn't fall for it, but on FB I saw an AI concept of a new Ford Model T that I thought looked pretty snazzy. Wish I'd have saved the pic. Of course if Ford ever released one, they'd probable make it a gutless wonder like Dodge & Chevy did with the PT Cruisers and HHR's. But then again, the original Model T wasn't what anyone would call a speed demon.
