I'm working on a idea for a possible new toy and I thought I knew what was what with barrel lengths, but I'm scratching my head right now.

The rough plan is a dedicated .22 pistol but I want to use what I was thinking would be a 5" barrel.

Looking around I can find 4.5" or 7" and up but I guess I don't know what is actually measured at 4.5"?

For reference, something like this is what I was looking for, or at least something close enough to it for the length. I had the 5" idea measuring from the muzzle to the bushing.

And for the 4.5" that I found so far just looking around is this one.

You measure from the breach/bolt face closed on the chamber to the end of the barrel. Not the end of a flash hider. Unless the flash hider is permanently fixed.
