Forgive my ignorance. I have a .45 P220C SAO that I bought new. I've always enjoyed the gun except regretting getting the shorter 4" version.

Are the slides interchangeable between the SAO and DA/SA guns? Seems like they should be, but I want to make sure before spending the money and dropping the hammer.

The 220C has a strong following here, and is well regarded as is.

It would be simpler to purchase a full size 220 after selling the compact as is.

If you want optics ready slide, there is a chance that the compact slide could be machined to accept an optic.

I don't plan on getting rid of the original slide and barrel.
