I want to add an optical sight to my 226 Nitron, .40. The factory only offers an optical ready slide for the 9 and tells me that they are not/will not take orders for a .40 replacement slide. Has anyone else made this conversion? If so, please share the details.
Thanks for your response. My slide has the chambered round indicator which I don't believe can be modified to accept an optical sight. The cost of a new slide plus modification costs are much higher than the gun's original cost. Did SIG ever make a 357/40 slide with the optical sight features machined in?
I would like to also hear from those who have had their Sig slides milled for optics by a third party. I am considering having both a 40 S&W and a 45 ACP slide milled for optics and would like to hear your experiences,ie who did the milling, how much, turn around time, how satisfied were you, etc.
