i just acquired an oem sig threaded barrel for my p226. its a 13.5x1 L. it did not come with an o-ring and it seems the thread protector can walk out easily.

the question is, should i use an o-ring and if yes please recommend a link to one

I have the same threads on a P229 40 barrel. No O-ring and never had a problem with thread protector coming loose. Snug it up and check it after shooting a magazine full and see.
