Baltimore sues Glock over pistols turned machine guns

Alleges manufacturer ignores danger of modifying weapons with cheap switch

BALTIMORE — It’s referred to as a “Glock switch,” which can turn a handgun with a 15-round magazine into much, much more.

“A dime-sized device that turns a handgun [into] a weapon capable of firing 1,200 rounds per minute,” explained Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown, “That’s faster than the weapons of war that I used in the Army. ATF agents call it ‘spray and pray’...”

...Pistols produced by the Austrian-owned Glock are the only ones, which can be transformed with such a switch, and it is now a target for legal action from the city and the Maryland Attorney General to stop the sale of its handguns...

If they want to curb crime, start passing out condoms and start sterilizing people in Baltimore proper.

In my peer group and in my neighborhood, every single person could have a Glock with a switch and 10,000 rounds of ammunition, and not a single crime would be committed with those pistols and there would not be a single unjustified shooting.

It's not the guns, it's the people. Get rid of the thugs. Problem solved.

Maryland governor Wes Moore signs Glock ban into law. It is now illegal in Maryland to buy, sell or transfer a Glock. Current owners are allowed to keep them.

Connecticut has also banned all Glocks for the same reason. Grandfather clause in effect.

Isn't this going to be considered a Bill of Attainder when the lawsuits wind their way up to the federal level?

And the great Kathy Hochul of NY has also banned Glocks.
