That's the goal, and this is the start and the possible beginning of a final blow. BUT, the demonrats will still defy the sum or parts of the ruling(s), and make a whole slew of new lame excuses for laws to make it as miserable as possible for all 2A lovers of the Constitution, and will comes up with whole new lines of theory to bypass as much of it as possible.

Depending on how well the communists and jihadists infiltrate the democrat party of the next few election cycles, things could get to the point where some states would simply ignore any SCOTUS ruling they don't like. Literally, as in just ignore it. Not just sort of like FU, but actually FU with the big middle finger. So SCOTUS could say well given your line of argument against guns, you just cant do that, it's been decided and you lost. They could just do it anyway, easy peasy, because it would work.
