ARGH!
Colt just cannot seem to get it together.
Yes, I am glad I got this one. That makes 3 Colts now.
Fit and finish seems really good on this one.

I recently bought a Colt LE6920 Magpul edition. I had sold my previous AR, an Armalite when I was out of work. I think I got a pretty good deal on it and I've since added an Aimpoint Pro with a Bobro mount. I have not had a chance to shoot it since adding the Bobro mount but it was fantastic with the regular aimpoint mount and iron sights.

And the photo, isn't she a beaut?
I have already removed and mailed the bolt carrier to Cogan for hard chrome.
The trigger pull is just fine, no creep, clean break. It is a bit stiff, but that's OK.
r2mach1 tried out the trigger and can vouch for that.

Old school, baby, old school.
I'm super happy I picked this up.
Finally, I have a complete 20in Colt again.

Very nice. I go back and forth about picking up the Colt A4. I have an MT6700 that I installed a Colt gov. profile barrel on after the ban. It's cool but a factory A4 would be cooler (and would go well with my factory A2 style R6551) Smile

I'm confused... That barrel looks way too long, there is no place to hang tactical shite off the handguard, I don't know how that stock is supposed to collapse, and what kind of red dot sight is that on top of the receiver? Confused

Wink Big Grin

Seriously... looks like one nice "old school" AR! Congrats!

That post earns you a custom user title, name it.
Of course you could have one anyway for being a 10 year member.

I think that looks just fine.
Nice.
Plus a 20rd mag, my favorite.

Gee, if I get one more Colt, my daughters can have 2 Colts each after I'm gone, thereby qualifying them as #ColtSnobs.

I hope a fracas doesn't break out over who gets the Colt AR15A4.

And a fracas there will be! Especially if they were introduced to the "magic musket" after learning on carbines. I own and have shot my fair share of Colt carbines. They are hot, sexy, and in demand! But nothing compares to the feel of getting into the sitting position with a 20" A2 (or A4), wrapping the sling tight, checking your wind value, making your adjustments, looking across that perfect sight picture at a far away target, waiting for the "natural pause", and slinging lead on point!

Unless I know for a fact I will be climbing in and out of vehicles when the end of the world comes, my choice will be a 20" AR. Colt of course. Smile

Agree. I use iron sights and the increase in sight radius is of help.
I had forgotten how well a 20in balances.

The added sight radius is not to be laughed at. When I first shot the M4 I was like WTH? The front sight post seemed to take up the whole target. On my carbines I always use some type of NM front sight post now to narrow it down; to me it makes the sight picture more like a 20" and I shoot it better.

I am not an optic guy. Of the dozen or so AR's I own I have optics on two. A comp M3 on my home 6720 and a TA31H-G on my 6920. I swear I am faster (and more accurate) with irons. But it's probably because I am just used to them.

As far as balance there is nothing like a 20" AR. It just fits.

For me, I like having all my ARs basic and alike in the sense that whichever one I pick up they all operate and feel the same way.

But that's just me.
Others like to have different specific specialized weapons.

In my case, the differences are only a matter of barrel lengths, barrel profiles, twist rates and such. Plus in one case, a different caliber.
Other than that, in the dark, I could pick up any of mine and since they are so similar, they are imminently familiar.
All have the A2 type buttstock. I have never been able to get used to the collapsible stocks, my shoulder is oddly shaped or something.

I agree. I found the the biggest factor in making them feel the "same" has been the Geissele SSA triggers I installed.

I have kind of commandeered the dining room table as my play area.

Darn if I didn't pick up the new 20in Colt and Wham! I hit the hanging overhead light fixture.
I never did that with my 16s.
Oops.

Glad my wife didn't see or hear that.

I already have a new rule that was instituted recently.

By day 10, all firearms must be removed from the island in the kitchen.
Or was it day 14?
I guess I will put the new rifle on the island and Mrs.LBJ will let me know the day it must be moved.
While I may have forgotten, I highly doubt Mrs. LBJ has.

Yes many a disease anymore:
magaholism
ammoholism
Coltaholism

I suffer from them all.
One day my girls will too.
They are now decidedly pro Trump and pro 2nd Amendment.
Such makes me proud.
Plus they are going to be #ColtSnobs, I mean, what more can I ask for.

It just occurred to me that in the dark, I could grab the other caliber AR. I think I will put a piece of black electrical tape on the pistol grip and mags so I can feel it's the 300BLK.
