Hi, my name is LBJ and I'm apparently a Colt snob because I ordered another Colt, an AR15A4.

I need help, I think, or maybe not.

The first step is…..

Admitting it.

When's the next meeting because I only own Colt rifles?

I got lots of carbines, so I decided a full size 20in A4 flat top with carry handle would be fun and different.

I told my youngest about it this morning.
She says she thinks I have enough ARs.
Then I told her it was going to be hers one day and that she will get more than one, and her eyes widened and got big with delight.

Yeah, the kids are gonna get 2 Colts each after I'm gone.
My daughters are now Colt snobs too, they just don't know it yet.

Simple, functional, battle proven, reliable... there is lots to love with a Colt AR15A4.

These are hard to find right now and pricing is not good.
I am being told this style is not currently produced until they gear up and make another run.
I ended up on an auction site because everyone around here says they cannot find me one.

But if you are looking for an M16A4 clone you will need this:

Colt never had the M16A4 contract. FN did.

I-am-a-Colt-snob.
The Colt A2s were battle proven. The only difference now is the flat top.

I wouldn't mind an FN, but I doubt they are available as a semi auto only. I could be wrong.

I do own a lot of ARs that say Colt on the side, but I still have my SR-15, so that makes me a Knights Snob.

My 20" HBAR is one of my favorite rifles, it's great at the range.

Arc.

FN cant use any information they learned from the TDP to make civilian rifles so you're not getting a real deal minus the happy switch like with a colt.

I just put my very first AR15 on layaway at my LGS. I got lucky, as I came in just after a nice Colt M4A1 SOCOM was cancelled on layaway. This one has the Knights quad rail and a Matech rear sight. I got it brand new for $1,100.00. Colts seem to be pretty rare around these parts these days. I was just hoping for a plain Jane LE6920 and feel like I hit the jackpot with this one. I've been contemplating an AR for a while now and I'm glad I held out until I could find a Colt.

How was the receiver finish on that Colt.
Some of the finishes these days have been a bit dicey.
It's just cosmetic, but still.

I've looked it over pretty well and I wouldn't call it 100% perfect, but overall I would say it is pretty decent.....nothing worth noting or complaining about.

Roll Eyes

Yup. They stop mid-production, and press the 'reduce quality' buttons on all the machines.

Plus ARs are so hard to make that very few if anyone besides Colt can make one.
