So I took a bite out of this Blood Orange and it didn't bite back.

Placed it on a blue mouse pad and took the photo with a Pentax 645z medium format digital camera with 55mm f2.8 lens.

I got one of those without notice some years ago in a foreign market and thought I'd gotten one that had been adulterated with poison. I'd never heard of a "blood orange". I carefully put it in a plastic bag and took it to work to have it examined and was told it was perfectly normal--so I ate it.

My first experience with these was in a blood orange cranberry heavy ale....That was so good, but the brewery hasn't done another run of that brew.
