She has been gone a few years now, but we transplanted a rose bush from her house that was sentimental to my wife.

Today it was looking very nice so I broke out the medium format Pentax digital camera.

Pentax 645z, 55mm 1:2.8 lens with a short extension tube.

What a beautiful thing to keep as a tangible memory.

Is it named?

We just call it "Mom's Rose"

When my youngest was born 16 years ago I talked her into leaving wait staff and working for me as a nanny.

She got bored and would clean house, run errands and such. Around the months before Thanksgiving she would plan and get donations and help for the Community Thanksgiving dinner (a free dinner for all.. paid for by donations).

When my son started school she asked what she was going to do, and I told her I would pay her the same for the errand running, and other things she was already doing.
