Thought I'd share one more pic since I haven't shared much lately. I've been trying to take more pictures of my kiddos as I seem to have slacked off in recent months. Anyhow, we took a drive last week and were excited to see a storm rolling in, we live right up next to the mountains so we don't see many storms. This was about 40 miles east of town where the storms thrive a little better.

St. Dominic Catholic Church and Cemetery by nathan512, on Flickr

St. Dominic Catholic Church and Cemetery
History:
Congregation formed in 1847 with founding of D'Hanis Colony by settlers from Alsace, France. In 1853, when town became a mission parish, limestone church was built, using timber hauled by ox-wagon from Medina River. Sandstone extension was built in 1868 upon arrival of first resident pastor but abandoned after 1914 when new church was built in "New" D'Hanis (1 1/2 miles west). Cemetery, dating from burial of child of colonists in 1847, was used until 1893, when new cemetery was started following diptheria epidemic.

The siren's song of ice cream. The voice that no little boy can resist.

Last weekend we went to visit the Hopi Reservation, here a few photos from the area. You are not allowed to take pictures on the Reservation but our guide did allow me shoot the Petroglyphs.

On the way we spent a night at Marble Canyon. Folks rafting the Colorado launch just above this:

The Navajo Bridges at Marble Canyon:

Elephant Feet, outside Tuba City, AZ:

Coal Mine Canyon, joint use area of the Navajo/Hopi Reservations:

There were over 1000 Petroglyphs at the Taawaki site on the Hopi Reservation:

Our guide, Donald, was amazing, he explained much of what we saw:
