The Woodland BDU's had a dye in them that helped to mask the wearer's IR signiture. The older OG uniform did not, and that shows in the picture. Repeated launderings reduced the effectivness if the IR dye, and we were told to avoid ERA detergent and anything with color safe whiteners.
