I posted a pic of my favorite Seiko, a SLA081 (60th anniversary MarineMaster 600m/ 600 watches total) in a Seiko specific watch group on FB and someone asked me what they are selling for currently.

Holy Shit! I figured it was a good investment piece as there are only 600 total and less than 20 made it to the USA. The damn watch has gone up a bit in value and looks like it sells around $6-9k compared to its original $4600 MSRP. Eek Mine is mint and has not been worn so it’s going to be towards the top of the price charts.

My Seiko Nemo has also shot through the roof in terms of current value!

I guess not all Seiko watches lose their value.

I'd be mighty tempted to flip that into an Omega Moonwatch. But, the Omega is pretty much my grail watch.

Just when you think you've scratched all the itches watches can bring, you run into something that's certainly not in the "grail" category, but has a history, look, and technology that's just too hard to resist. While stopping at Aruba on a recent cruise, I checked out Accutron watches that I'd seen online for sale, but never in the metal. They operate off of a charge caused by static electricity created with internal rotors and movement. They claim accuracy within 5 seconds (+/-) per month and over the last couple of months I've had it, it's been spot on even though I might not wear it for a week or so.

I've always been intrigued by skeleton watches.

That's a beautiful Accutron, pulicords. Very cool, man.

I had a Bulova skeleton watch for a number of years. It was (IMO) gorgeous, and great fun to watch the internals moving around.

While I consider my watch collection 99.9% complete Sinn still has a few watches that tempt me mightily. One of those watches even taught me the German word “HANDAUFZUG”. Look at that dial & caseback!!! Gorgeous!!

That doesn’t mean that I am not resisting the urge to scoop up another one of Sinn’s modern art masterpieces.

This baby has a German word on the dial that I had never heard before.

Without the help of the Google can anyone here guess what Handaufzug means?

This is another one from Sinn that is mighty tempting.

Beautiful Sinns Stickman! I fell down the Sinn rabbit hole a few years back and it's nice to seen I'm not alone among the Sigforum members. There's so many nice chronos, pilots, divers, and others to choose from that it's very hard to quit! Every year they seem to come out with new special models that seem to outdo the previous year's offerings.

Thank you. Normally, I stay away from skeletonized dials or others that I find too busy, just because my eyes aren't all that great compared to younger days. This model seems to be a good balance for me though and I probably bought it more for the technology than the aesthetics, so I figured it would be the exception.

BTW: While Accutron watches were originally developed by Bulova in 1960, they've gone off and are their own brand now. Probably the only quartz watch I'm really interested in getting these days is one of the smaller (43mm?) Bulova blue and white "Lunar Pilot"! They're really cool, have a great history, outstanding accuracy!

Comfortable on the wrist. Accuracy is outstanding.

Yes. It's an old one, I think from 2006. But it had just come back from IWC for a full overhaul when I got it about five yrs ago.
