Thanks for the review, Dan. That Tissot is pretty and I'm sure your gal will love it!

Ooh! Ooh! I almost forgot! (Well, actually I did, I suppose.)

I also got a look at SJE075, a member of the Presage series. It got the porcelain face and the blued hands. Absolutely stinking gorgeous! (And it wears a $3300 list price.)

I like that Seiko Presage! With the price tag that listed, I'm wondering what kind of movement it has. Spring Drive?

If I'm not mistaken, it uses the calibre 6R35 automatic movement.

6L35

The Seiko 6L35 is a higher-grade, slimmer, and more accurate movement than the workhorse 6R35, which boasts a longer 70-hour power reserve. The 6L35's higher frequency (28,800 vph vs. 21,600 vph) and thinner profile (3.7mm) allow for the creation of more elegant, slim watches, whereas the 6R35 is known for its robust power reserve and suitability for everyday watches.

Here’s an old listing for one at about half the price. Wink

Still too high for me, but man that's nice.

Is the 6L35 an automatic or manual wind movement?

Sounds AI ( similar to Watches of Espionage) but learned a couple things about the Lunar Pilot and Apollo 15. I've been wearing my Seiko solar but switched to the LP. Hasn't lost a second since I last last had it on ( a month or 2, July and August both 31 days, ha). An automatic LP would be cool, but I'm happy with the Quartz .262.

I have the Bulova Lunar Pilot 96K111. I have had it since Feb 2024. I only have to reset it for change to/from DST.

It took awhile to get from a private party sale in Australia, but I've got it! Oris ProPilot "Coulson" (Aerial Firefighting) Limited Edition. I've replaced the OEM strap with a "Omega style" black rubber AquaFlex deployment model from The Strap Tailor (UK). The carbon fiber case makes the watch very light.

Call me "Crazy", but I did a "thing" and traded in my five year old Rolex James Cameron Deep Sea Sea Dweller for a new Blancpain 43.6 Bathyscaphe with a black ceramic/steel body and sunburst blue dial. I KNOW it's depreciation is an issue in comparison to the Rolex, but I don't buy watches as "investments" and the wearing experience is much better with the Blancpain. It's size is about he same as it's predecessor, but it weighs far less and the height is far less obtrusive. The new case material is practically scratchproof (unless you're using a diamond on it) and the new formula for the case makes it extremely resistant to chipping/breakage.

ETA: It keeps GREAT TIME too!!! Wink
