That blue GMT is sharp, the Marine Master a close 2nd, between the 2.

I *SO* wish I'd been able to attend that event, stickman!
Nice haul!

Stickman, Listen Brother, I love your posts, respect the hell out of your insight, and am amazed at your knowledge on watches… jealous of your collection too!
But I’m gonna need to put you on the “ignore” list. You’re costing me a lot of $$$$!!!!
How do you like that anniversary Seiko GMT?!?! DAMN THAT ONE IS NICE!!! (There’s an envelope in the safe that needs to get lighter) I’ve looked around here, made a few calls, I can’t seem to find one here, unless I order one.
Like I said, that watch scratches a lot of my itches- GMT, Diver, Blue…
WHEN I get it, Im looking at the SS & Blue bracelet that Styliophiles (sp?) has on one of his Seikos. I think that SS & Blue bracelet would look pretty sharp.
(What’s the YouTube channel? And how much do you think it’s going to cost me in the long run when I watch it? )
The Wife is looking over my shoulder and likes it too. Then she says “I think I would like something green, something fancy.” So that one is really gonna cost me.

CPD SIG, the boutique that VThoky and I frequent has a green colorway GMT 3days diver.
I didn’t even tell you guys about the Doxa Sub GMT’s and assorted Subs my local boutique now carries. They are quite tempting!
I’ve been wearing this one a bit lately. More to come on this Pan Europ soon.

I like the green, but really prefer the blue. :;

The green one is for the wife, she's on the small side and a men's dive watch on her would look like she is wearing a car rim.
I think I'm going to order that Anniversary GMT.
I know you're a huge DOXA fan, what do they have?

I definitely think Seiko’s “limited edition” the 60th anniversary 1968 reissue / reinterpretation blue wave GMT is hands down one of the best looking watches Seiko has made in years. Seiko made something like 6,000 of them so you shouldn’t have too much trouble tracking one down. This is easy one of the top five dials they have ever made.
Now I will say, and this is only because I was blindsided by one myself, the new GMT silver/red diver is also VERY nice. The little bit of red along with the sunburst silver/white dial paired with a deep blue ceramic bezel insert makes for a spectacular color combination. ( ref: SPB519) Link to new white/silver dial Seiko GMT
My favorite enabler surprised me with this one. I still might get it even though it’s a lot like a fairly rare Hamilton khaki king scuba “diver” I was lucky enough to pick up a few years ago. I say diver in parentheses because it’s only rated down to 100m…..only.
It also isn’t a lot different from my ice diver gmt that I got last year except for that red…damn it pops on that dial.
Now all that said if you still went with the 60th anniversary edition I would totally understand why. I am about to try out various NATO straps and mesh bracelets on mine.

Stickman- On that 60th Anniversary GMT, I called a dealer here, he got 12 as soon as they came out. Gone within 2 weeks. I guess I'm on the list of his second order, so they are going fast. Yeah, I'm stuck on that GMT! It fits a lot of my "wants" with one watch.

That blue GMT is stunning. Sadly, my Monster is mostly relegated to dressy duty & my CZ has been the EDC recently. Been running & in the gym a bit more, so the tracking with it is nice.

As much as I like the blue wave face, that white/silver plain face with the red tipped hands is damned handsome! Simplicity with just a touch of pizzazz!

In 2015 I snagged a really good deal on a Luminox Chronograph and got a "matching" NATO strap for it.
NATO strap got pretty bad after a while and until recently I quit wearing it. Then I found a LUMINOX branded Carbonox link bracelet. A quick trip to have new seals and gaskets added to insure water resistance and...
Around 2020 I got a Seiko 5 SNZG09J1 Green with green strap.
Been following Marc at Long Island watch for quite a while. He also make watch bracelets for many different watches. I asked a few times about a replacement for the SNZG series. Answer...working on it. Finally got one. Perfect bead blasted finish to match the Seiko finish. Totally changed the appearance.
Pretty happy how they turned out.

The bracelet really changes how the 5 looks. I had the same watch, with the fabric strap, almost never wore it, so I gave it to my dad. It's become his beater & his Sternglas gets the dressier duty.

^^^ My Seiko 5 was my beater work watch for many years. Looked like hell, but kept working. Me and the watch.

I just hit a new shop that a friend of mine told be about here in Downtown Chicago.
Nice selection of Seiko's, Grand Seiko's, ---> DOXA'S <---!!!! and a few others.
I've been looking for something more dressy than the tool watches that I'm used to wearing and that Doxa 200T "Emerald" is stunning. That said, I've recently overcome some serious health issues and was considering going for a "grail" by Rolex IF I found one reasonably priced. Yesterday, I was at a local store that's treated me well and I made the plunge. It's doubtful that I'll ever spend this much on a timepiece again, but what the hell... I needed another link for the Oyster bracelet and while I'm waiting for it to arrive, I substituted a nice green strap from the Strap Tailor.

Beautiful watch! I get the oyster bracelet, but that green leather looks perfect. I wouldn't change it. I've wanted a Rolex Sub since I was a kid. That's probably at the top of my "grail" list. But now, being a little more educated about watches, and how companies operate, It's probably a Red Submariner ( https://www.bobswatches.com/ro..._wvuHgrXCu3zZjektLoX )

Thank you! I worked with an Lt (when I was still a LEO) that received a "Red Line" Submariner as an academy graduation gift in the early 1970's, and he's still wearing it today. In those days a "tool" watch was a "TOOL watch"! He can't believe what they're going for today!
Get that grail watch NOW, so you can enjoy it! We never know how much time we've got.
Nothing wild got me, but age. I had (emphasis on past tense) A-fib and complications were encountered during treatment and shortly after, but all seems well now. I'm 17 years retired and have no intent on doing anything besides getting even more back from the city for as long as I can!!!
