As I mentioned on the previous page, if someone does want to "cough up" the money for a Helm Vanuatu Titanium, you can!

My number has come up and I'm not going to execute the buy. I'll send the code and inform Helm of the transfer.

Let me know. Email address in profile.

I finally got to removing a couple of links from the new bracelet from Strapcode.

Getting a good pic was challenging, but here it is:

I need to weigh this setup tomorrow -- it's heavy! Cool

Jan 22 edit: This setup weighs 192 grams (0.42 pound). Even at that weight, it's comfortable enough that I forget it's there.

My daily drivers. Far left 1993 Seiko. Second 1964 Bulova Accutron Spaceview conversion, from eBay. Third is a 1972 Bulova Accutron red fade, I bought that new. Fourth one, 1951 Bulova Director, was my dad’s, recently had it rebuilt, hasn’t worked since 1962. Fifth one, Bulova Railroad Approved Accutron date only, 1973, again from eBay. Sixth one, 1962 Bulova 23 Jewel, was my dad’s also.

I like the look of my Marathon Chrono with a SS Band, but damn it's heavy! Not to sound like the Fashion Police or a Diva, but yeah, a lot of us switch between straps & bands. (It's almost like getting a new watch when you switch the straps)

The Omega is a 20mm strap width

How do you like your Speedy? Although I think I've got a pretty varied and good collection, the new Speedmaster Professional (Moonwatch) with the white dial really caught my eye. I just turned 70 this month and I've got one on the way to help me get over the fact that I'm so old! I'd rather it had an automatic movement than the manual wind, but with a 50 hour power reserve I thought I'd get used to it.

I've already got a few straps ordered from Liger, Tuns, and The Strap Tailor. They've got some great offerings and the prices aren't crazy.

Hamilton definitely likes to experiment with crowns on the left, right, and place them in the 2, 4, 8, 9 and/or 10 o’clock position.

Hamilton’s X wind khaki is another lefty model. Reference H77616533.

A new addition to my collection commemorating my 70th birthday. It's my first Omega and now my only manual wind, but I'm loving the simplicity of the white dial and it's different vibe from the black and (latest) blue dial versions of the Speedmaster Professional "Moonwatch." I found it being sold "New", but previously owned by a private party and (surprising to me) it's bracelet was actually sized perfectly for my wrist.

Pulli!!!
Sorry, I didn’t see your earlier post.
CONGRATS on the Birthday!
BEAUTIFUL SPEEDY! I don’t think you’ll regret it.

I really love mine. It’s my “dress-up” watch, and no where near an “EDC”.

I already have a few automatics, but no sapphire back ones. My Speedy scratches the itch of wanting a manual movement too. I felt that the counter-weight just takes up a lot of the view of the movement. I can (and actually have) “geeked out” for an hour or so and watched the Video that SigSentry posted on the previous page. Wink watching the movement, thinking about the engineering that goes into a good watch fascinates the hell out of me.

I can leave the Stainless bracelet on there, toss on a black or brown leather, a canvas, a NATO… depending on what I’m wearing (not to sound like the “fashion police”).

Now for something a little more budget.

I picked up this new Zodiac Olympos reissue last week for a steal and decided the strap was just irritating, so a beads of rice it gets!

They are $995 at Zodiac, but there are no more gold ones. I bid on this one on eBay and snagged it for $540.

It's called a bullhead case. It's VERY 1950's.

I also LOVE that polar Omega. It's a spinoff of an Alaska Project.

Someone call the police! THAT was a real steal!!! Wink

Changing up the watch from strap(s) to bracelet really changes the vibe and makes this a very versatile watch. I've always like Zodiac's offerings.

Here's a stainless. Stainless vintage 19mm BOR bracelets are inexpensive.
