I don't have any experience with them, but I know Stickman is pretty fond of his. He'll be here soon enough.
Scroll back a few pages, I know he has an orange one and a yellow.

6guns^^^ Second post down on page 481. I like the Breitling "yellow" a little better, but both solid looking watches.

stickman428Doxa is legit. I don’t regret any of my Doxa acquisitions. As far as serious tool watches with an exemplary history goes Doxa has to be considered amongst the very best.
The Titanium Doxa Subs with tritium are my personal favorites but sadly they are not easy to find. Their Sub 300T is in my eyes one of the most comfortable, beautiful, recognizable, and iconic dive watches ever made.
It is a brand with legit history in the dive community and a serious addition to any tasteful dive watch enthusiasts collection.
One of the most memorable and best days I’ve experienced as a watch nerd so far was the day I became a Doxa Sub 800Ti Sharkhunter owner.

. I successfully managed to chase down my local UPS truck after missing their delivery by mere minutes.

Doxa’s individually numbered low production run of carbon cased (yellow) Divingstar Aqualung co branded limited edition vintage 1960-70’s vintage reissue watches have been tempting me lately.

P220 SmudgeHaven't checked in on this thread in a while, but that's because I've chilled out on the watch buying frenzy. I'm pretty well settled on my Maratac Titanium Pilot for daily wear. Basically nothing else has been on my wrist since I got it. It's simple, it's quick and easy to read, goes with anything I wear, and it's so light I mostly don't notice it. It keeps great time and gains maybe a minute a month or so, which I prefer to running slow. I’m also glad I picked it up on sale from the previous price, it looks like it went up another hundred bucks since then.
I think I'm good on watches now, which feels weird to say. Tried wearing the titanium Dual Crown 50 the other day and it felt light, but overly chonky on the wrist. I think I'll keep it for the changeup days, and eventually try to pick up one of their titanium divers, hopefully I can get my hands on their LSA homage, but I'm probably gonna move everything else that's in 316L. I'm spoiled for them after wearing titanium watches for six months plus. My only regret is this Pilot has 20mm lug width and I have a whole pile of NATO straps in 22mm. I guess it's time to start picking up some more NATOs in 20mm.
Obligatory wrist shot:

SigSentryAnother "cheap" watch. I was interested in a turtle but wasn't looking to pay for a 6501-8000 (8110 (Willard) or even the "new Willard" Seiko SPD151. So, I was looking at Homages (the horror). I felt the Addiesdive was the closest between Steeldives and Addiesdive since the bezel was thinner and closer to the original. It's pretty darn close, just missing the inlay pip in the triangle at the 12 o'clock position. I consider that itch scratched for just $90. At least it has a Seiko NH35A movement.

fischtown7I have the Steeldive version and it has to be the best value for money there is, I love mine.
October 21, 2024, 02:07 PM
SigSentry^ nice. Both AD and SD are probably in the same building but on different floors

. Mine has gained a couple seconds in 2 days, easier to hack than losing seconds. I suppose these are cheaper on AllieExpress. I don't know what that is nor do I want to know.
Suppose I'm reliving my childhood when I wore a double buckle leather cuff with whatever watch I had at the time. This is just so comfy, I don't want to take it off. Yep, these are a good value particularly when nobody really gives a flying crap about what watch you have on and you just want to create or relive a memory at a reasonable price.

6gunsSome of you may recall our own vthoky had a Seiko Alpinist for sale in the classifieds. When I first saw it I thought, damn, that's nice looking! At the time I was also waiting on a Helm and thought well, now's not the time. Is there ever not a time for a pretty watch?

Fast forward to last week when I decided I wanted that watch. So here it is. BTW, vthoky is fantastic to deal with and a complete straight shooter! Thanks, vthoky!
Having it arrive today was extra special being #47 Day!

konata88Very nice. I really wanted that Alpinist. My budget just kept declining me.

This strap (on my wrist right now) is way softer than I expected! A nice surprise. I have class on my wrist!

6gunsBrad and konata, it was a kind of knee-jerk decision at the time, but I don't regret it. Feels classy! The off-white dial looks perfect.

The black one that came on the watch is very dressy (IMO) and looks great on it. I had to "casual it up" a little, though, and found that light brown leather. I liked it; I'm glad you do too.

6gunsIt just occurred to me, that I guess I have an aversion to black watch straps....and I swear, I'm not racist!

Seriously, I don't have a black watch strap on any of my watches; they're either bracelets (my preference) or brown/dark brown.
I totally get what you're saying, Dan; the brown soft leather strap makes it casual and that's my style. It's very nice! Thank you!

Bolded for emphasis, cannot disagree.
Glad you got it, it was tempting me for a while.
