Congratulations, that is great looking watch. Were you able to pick that up from an AD or did you get it on the secondary market, I know they are very hard to find right now. I was at the AD I do business with yesterday and they had a few Tudors in the display case however I have never seen that watch in person.
I got it from the AD. I think things are easier to get than they used to be. Even Rolex is loosening up. I noticed some resellers that don't normally carry newer Rolex have scads. That tells me the top tier Greys are liquidating their hordes. Which of course, is a huge driver of the whole shortage. I never buy grey, and I never pay more than retail. I'm always able to get what I want with a little patience.
Good deal. I know one of the grey dealers near me in central FL has them on his website for $6975.00 and $7575.00.
I picked up a Black Bay 58 Silver a few months ago from the my AD. I know they have been hard to get since they first came out however some times you get lucky being in the right place at the right time. I had no intention on buying a watch that day, my wife made me do it. She was the one who spotted it and said we should buy it, who am I to argue. The only Rolex's he has are display models everything else is already spoken for before they come in. I usually deal with the manager and he put my name on the list for a Explorer II Polar. I am not holding my breath it comes in any time soon even tho I have done business with him.

Greys are gonna grey. But if you have a relationship with an AD, just stay tight and frequent the shop and make sure they remember you. I waited maybe a month or two. Mind you I bought the blue BB58 out of the case the day I asked for an FXD, which now I'll probably sell at a loss. Still, beats paying greys.
My shop has several BB58s in the case, including the silver. But yes, Rolex is still tough to get. Again, you just need to have a relationship and stay top of mind. Buying some Tudor, JLC, IWC or whatever else they may have helps too I think. But then, you need to get good at selling if you buy a lot.

Yea my wife and I have a good business relationship with the general manager of the AD we do business with. Over the last couple years we have purchased a Breitling and two Tudors from him and we stop in every couple weeks to just say hi and shoot the shit, it does help. The manager we know likes when we stop in to talk about what is going on in the watch world. A few visits back when we were there to put my name on the Rolex Explorer II polar list he told us they had just received there Tudor shipment. That was the day my wife made me buy the BB58 Silver , she said it was something she could wear too, and she does.

I get pretty intrigued by the mechanics of a watch. The Omega runs at 25200 beats per hour. I wanted to see the second hand “tick” at 7 times a second. Pretty impressed with the iPhone and it’s ability to record slow motion. Pretty cool. Here’s the video if you’re interested.

I use the iPhone Slo-Mo to check the amplitude on all the movements I work on. A true help.

Been wearing one of my two Sinn 156 Military chronographs. This one is on a black with white center stripe MN parachute strap.
I've been pleased with the accuracy this past week which has been within 2 seconds per day! I love the Lemania 5100 movement!

Beautiful Sinn! I love the black dial and blacked out bezel. Those orange hands are especially cool!
I think this might be my favorite Seiko…and this is coming from someone who owns a few Seiko watches. . It manages to combine the best bezel I think they’ve ever made with one of the most amazing dials I’ve ever seen Seiko make.

If I had to pick my top five favorite watches of all time, I think the IWC 3706 would be in it. Perhaps even into the top three.

Thank you! I think it's a lifer for me. Tere are a few watches I'll just have to keep, even if I don't wear them -- though I do wear this a bit.
I will say it was way under $5k. These are hard to find, but well-undervalued given the prices of some modern chronographs. Hell, IWC even made a tribute 3706 recently (bigger and with fauxtina), and yet STILL the classic 3706 prices are stable. Like I said, they're scarce, but you can find them. Now finding one with B&P and the crisp case mine has, that's another matter entirely.

Thanks for all the compliments on the Omega. It is quite nice.
Bob, I love that Sinn. The black on black is fantastic. Stickman, I agree, that is a damn fine Seiko, and the colorway is perfect. Rogue, holy shit. That 3706 is amazing. Absolutely gorgeous.
So, I had this one for a few days, a few weeks ago. While I loved it, I couldn’t justify buying it. My wife picked it up yesterday as an early Father’s Day gift. She made sure it was the same serial number, as I was so awestruck by it’s almost perfect accuracy. I think it’s a really beautiful watch. It’ll go nicely in the collection, and it contrasts the Omega rather well.

I keep coming back to this. I've always liked Sinn, but strangely have never had one. I really like them.
