What can you guys tell me about the Glycine Combat Sub? How is the quality? The movement seems to be based off the ETA 2824-2/ SW-200 so it should be good to go right? I found one with a dial I really like and the thin size of the watch is quite tempting.

Glycine is now owned by Invicta. I have not direct knowledge as to how this has affected quality.

Check on Amazon and watch forums (i.e., watchuseek).

I know this is supposed to be a picture thread, but you all seem exceptionally knowledgeable about the watch subject so here’s my next question. How reliable are online watch resellers like Bob’s Watches and Crown & Caliber?

Bob's has a good reputation, although I haven't dealt with them.
I don't think you can generalize - investigate each on the well-known watch fora.

Just caught this on Antiques Roadshow. Seems appropriate for this thread. Really happy for the fellow.
Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Cheers, and that is a cool watch.

Many of you are very knowledgable when it comes to what movements are in various watches. Can someone point be to a good tutorial on this subject? Thanks.

The gnomon exclusive version won me over. I decided to see firsthand how the Glycine Combat Sub stacks up against my other divers. Being a part of Invicta isn’t a huge issue for me. I’ve beaten the absolute hell out of one of my Invicta NH35A/Seiko powered divers and have been pleasantly surprised by the robustness of the watch.
The combat sub comes in at 10.6mm thick, Yes you read that right it is only ten point six millimeters thick. Quite a skinny diver compared to the competitors in the same price range. To be honest though the sand dial and unique 3,6,9 & 4 o’clock date window won me over to the watch.
So far I like it.
