A revival of the Watch thread
Just what I've read - but from reputable sources -- Modern lubricants don't get thick by sitting (though age has some effect). More the issue is microscopic particles from wear over time accelerating wear. Also I'm of the understanding that modern lubricants don't migrate.

If I had a Rolex that I cared about that hadn't been serviced in a decade, I'd let her run down, and wear something else until I could get a service on it. I know a guy that'll service Rolex (he has a parts account) for $200. That said... I'd use the RSC. or.... RGM.

They can, although not as badly as old lubricants. In fact, there's a process for coating certain high-speed parts after cleaning but before applying the lubricant to reduce migration.

Agreed! I've started to migrate my tastes to very VERY legible dial. I'm tired of searching for the hands in clutter. This looks great. Hope it wears well. I figure if it doesn't work out for me, I can move it on SC quick enough and pass along some joy. Smile

Boom. Just like that. Let me know what you think once it arrives. I like the hacking movement and the second hand more than that on the SR-1.

But...but...

It's marketed as a DIVER'S watch; why are they showing it with an aeronautical Sectional Chart? Confused

'Cause it looks cool! Smile Same reason they are making all that crap on that site looks all BDU tough. But what the heck eh? A legible dial, reasonable sized hacking watch with an orange sec hand, that has curled lugs which I'm guessing will look good on a NATO strap. Seems a fun watch for the summer. Cheaper than a box of .22lr! Wink

Wow! 46.2-> 40 MM is mid ? Seems like quite a jump.

42MM would have been nice.

Anyway, congrats guys.

Wear it in good health.

Started a watch thread on here way back. Now this one is going to severely damage my bank account. In the market for something new to mix things up and I really should've avoided this thread...
